No one talks enough about Leo Valdez running away from his foster homes SIX TIMES between the ages of 8 and 14/15!! How bad does a place and people have to be that a CHILD thinks it’s better to be homeless and starving than staying in a house? I know for sure that he had one abusive foster parent but how many others??
Also everyone seems to skip over one very specific part Leo’s “humor hid the pain” quote. Did he not also say that he learned fast that making jokes USUALLY KEPT HIM FROM GETTING BEAT UP!! USUALLY!! That means tiny Leo got beat up so often he had to find a way not to and sometimes it didn’t even work! And that only (sometimes) kept him safe from other kids! No adult cares about how funny a kid is. That also could have gotten him in worse trouble since some humor can be interpreted as sarcasm or back talk which adults definitely don’t like. Not that Leo could help it, he’s trying his best as a traumatized child.

If you read The Tyrants Tomb from The Trials of Apollo, then you'd KNOW that he's STILL FAT only with muscle this time. Apollo/Lester describes Frank as "larger" (aka FAT) and more muscular. FRANK IS STILL FAT. HE WAS ALWAYS FAT. So, dear fandom, why the hell are so many of you guys allergic to drawing Frank with fat? He's canonically fat and strong. ALSO body builders aren't actually strong they're MODELS. If you search up “strong men competition” online you'll find that every man who's taking part in the competition has FAT. You want to know why? BECAUSE FAT MAKES YOU STRONGER!! YOU NEED FAT TO BE STRONG, GUYS! SO why are some of you drawing him with a body builder body. So PLEASE PLEASE draw Frank with his fat. I'm literally BEGGING you all to just give my son his fat back. I like this fandom, but I love Frank more. Put some RESPECT on his name and draw him with his proper body type. If you don't know where to start, you can look at the people who participate in strong men competitions and study their bodies. Frank's body is more aligned to be like theirs.
Headcanon that Jason isn't aware that he always looks a little sad so whenever he's trying to hide intense emotions he just makes his face look emotionless and that's how people can tell when he's going through something
Percy, on the night shift for watch, slumping into the mess hall for coffee: Gah - What the hell are you still doing up.
Jason, slumped over the table staring holes in the wall like a zombie: I can’t sleep.
Percy: Have you tried, you know, going to bed?
Jason: Where do you think I started.
Percy: Tried counting sheep?
Jason: Oh that’s a myth, it never works.
Percy: Want some warm milk?
Jason, scoffing: That’s for babies. I’m a grown man. I can’t be tricked into unconsciousness by a beverage.
Percy: Well have you tried -
Jason, frankly: Look, I just can’t force myself to go to sleep. I have to push my body to its limits until it just breaks down and I pass out for a couple hours. You know, naturally.

Give me Percy asking his mom if he can invite some of his orphan friends for the holidays. She says yes of course so he does. He invites Leo, Hazel, and Frank. And though Sally knows of them this is the first time she meets them.
So she opens to see this kid wearing nice clothes as if they are just wrong. His hair made as he continuously resists the urge to run his hands through it. He's shorter than she imagined. He's also too skinny. And it turns out he's Leo Valdez, the kid who can summon fire, who built not only a giant mechanical dragon but also the flying ship they travelled thousands of miles on past multiple oceans and monsters. The kid who Hera and Gaia presented themselves to as a kid, the kid who's the only one in centuries to possess the power he does only for it to be one that was a reminder of what killed his mom. And he's in her front door, a too skinny, fidgeting kid with a small gift bag.
Then it's Hazel and Frank (and Nico but she's mostly used to him). The girl who came back from the dead, the one who can bring out cursed jewels from the Earth, who was a black girl alive at the time of World War, and here she is. And she's this adorable kid who's well dressed and presented who calls Sally "Ma'am" and thanks her.
And then Frank who can turn into any animal in existence, the one who killed a titan while he was turned into a bear, the one who's a master archer, the one who's the son of ARES. And he's this pudgy yet buff adorable kid who seems awkward and gives her a small thanks as he hands her a cake box.
All this and she's amazed because although she knows, seeing them like this just reminded her that they're just kids.
Anyways they have a nice dinner, Paul plays games with them, Hazel has a sailor's mouth when she's playing card games, Frank has a horrible poker face so he just turns into a reptile or something to hide his face, Leo is always trying to cheat but never admits it, ( he makes a little robot to freak Paul out so he can change his dice).
Nico ALWAYS wins in card games except uno in which he loses horribly each and every time.
They all compete to wash the dishes and help Sally but she tells them no and to Percy's disappointment tells him to clean the dishes. Which he does, by controlling the water. And they lose it. They try not to show but they can't believe that Percy Jackson, the one who has defeated Kronos, who went through Tartarus, who fought Ares when he was 12, rejected immortality, and so much more. And here he is washing dishes for his mom while pouting about it.
Leo Valdez being a good cook means EVERYTHING to me. Like, this guy has been practically on his own since he was a kid; of course he’d have survival skills like cooking. One of my favorite small scenes in The Lost Hero is when he made the tacos for Piper and Jason because it really is such a great way for him to show his love and support for his friends despite everything else going on. I just keep imagining Leo noticing his friends are stressed and dropping off gifts of food without even acknowledging it. Imagine Annabeth coming back to her cabin after an awful day of searching for Percy only to find her favorite food sitting on her bunk in a container or Jason being silently handed a wrapped homemade meal after spending the day helping Leo on the Argo II. I just need other people to see and understand my vision here.
That Scene Where Leo Valdez's Fire Defeats Gaea; but Broken-Down Scientifically
What are Leo’s limits? Scientifically, what is the highest degree Fahrenheit/Celsius that he can generate? Is he 100% fire proof, or is there a certain point when the flames become too much?
Every single one of these questions are answered in these five quotes from Blood of Olympus:

"[Leo's] whole body was wreathed in fire. Rain hung in the stormy air, but it only
sizzled and steamed around him" (BoO, Riordan 387).
"Rain sizzled and steamed around him." So, Leo's flames would need to be hot enough for water to immediately evaporate anytime it gets near him. We know the boiling point of water is 212 °F (100 °C), but that changes with altitude. "As they ascended, Jason gathered the wind and clouds around him." 6,500 feet is the average for low-hanging clouds. This matches with what is happening in canon ("If they gained any more altitude, the air would be too thin to breathe" (BoO, Riordan 389).), because while there is less oxygen, a person can still breathe easily at that height. A lower atmospheric pressure actually decreases the boiling point, so Leo's heat would be at least 199.6 °F (93.1 °C). So this is the starting point/baseline of Leo's fire in this scene.
"Gaia crumbled to sand, only to get blasted by
more flames. Her body melted into a lump of glass, shattered, then re-formed
again as human" (BoO, Riordan 388).
Now Leo's heat has reached the point where sand gets turned into glass. This is a MASSIVE jump from the last measurement! For sand to instantly turn to glass, the temperature would have to be at least 3,000 °F (1,650 °C). If materials like soda ash and limestone were mixed in with the sand, that could reduce the melting point to 2552 °F (1400 °C), but that is still CRAZY hot!
"Leo looked like he was made of fire. Flames rippled beneath his skin, illuminating his skull. Leo grinned, which was unnerving in the flames, his teeth like molten
silver ingots" (BoO, Riordan 389).
This is a fascinating passage, but it's very hard to break down, due to its fantastical nature. To find a temperature, I searched up, "at what temperature would bone glow?" The result was at least 500 °C (932 °F), but we already knew that, so this isn't a very reliable gauge. Additionally, Leo is highly resistant to heat, so there really is no telling how hot he is in the moment (no, brain, I will not make a 'Hot Stuff' joke, this is a scientific report).
"Festus became an indistinct ball of fire in the sky – a second sun – growing
smaller and hotter. Then, in the corner of Jason’s eye, a blazing comet streaked
upward from the ground with a high-pitched, almost human scream. Just before
Jason blacked out, the comet intercepted the ball of fire above them.
The explosion turned the entire sky gold" (BoO, Riordan 389).
So throughout this, Leo's temperature has been growing, but we don't know at what rate. He seems to be alive until the onager's flame joins the mix, so to get the best guess, we'll have to find the highest estimate of the onager's fire. As described in Nico's chapter XLV; "the projectile was a mixture of incendiaries and Imperial gold. Even a small amount of Imperial gold could be incredibly volatile. Exposed to too much heat or pressure, the stuff would explode with devastating impact, and of course it was deadly to demigods as well as monsters" (BoO, Riordan 344). This is also very hard to find a specific temperature for, because there is not much to go off of. But there is one part, "anything in the blast zone would be annihilated – vaporized by the heat" (BoO, Riordan, 344). "ANYTHING." I doubt Nico was thinking of extremely heat resistance elements like Carbon or Tungsten, but we can at least find the 'vaporization' point of materials common to Camp Half-Blood structures. Most common is wood, and then there's marble, melting at 1,339°C (2,442°F), and for Cabin Thirteen, obsidian, melting at 2,000 °C (3,632 °F). Obsidian is probably the material with the highest melting point, so we will use that as our lowest-heat for the onager.
Okay! To get the final lowest estimate of the heat, we need to find the average between Leo's fire, and the onager's fire. The highest measure we found for Leo's fire was 3,000 °F (1,650 °C), when he turned sand-Gaea to glass. The highest measure we found for the onager's fire was 2,000 °C (3,632 °F), the melting point of obsidian. 3,000 + 3,632 / 2 = 3,316.
So, the lowest estimate of the final temperature that destroyed Gaea AND Leo is 3,316 °F, or 1830 °C.
This is PRETTY HOT compared to the average heat of lava, which is 1,000°C (1,830°F)! Or even the highest temperature ever recorded from a rock on Earth's surface, 2,370 °C (4,298 °F), (Scientists determined the temperature by studying a mineral in the rock. The common mineral zircon transformed into cubic zirconia, a process that requires a minimum temperature of 2,370 °C). And this is just the lowest estimate, since I am OBVIOUSLY no expert!
"LEO WAS DEAD.
He knew that with absolute certainty. He just didn’t understand why it hurt so
much. He felt like every cell in his body had exploded. Now his consciousness
was trapped inside a charred crispy husk of demigod roadkill" (BoO, Riordan 419).
And of course, we know that Leo did indeed die from this heat, so our fiery hero is NOT 100% fireproof! Even the pyrokinetic demigod from the Prophecy of Seven has his limits.

My personal headcanon is that there is NO limit to Leo Valdez's fire, only to what his mortal body can actually take. So if Leo's fire was in the hand's of an immortal being, it could destroy the entire world and never run out.
But with a little more practice, the Super Mcshizzle could very well be QUITE powerful :)

where she’s just begging him to come home and to just be family again and he’s willing to do anything to get what he needs even if it means hurting her or their family
watching that sibling turn into something or someone else entirely while all you can do is watch bc they simply won’t listen bc their so far gone
currently thinking about how percy attempted to end his life by suffocating himself underwater near the argo ii. but jason disrupted it and saved his life. then months later. jason was killed on a boat surrounded by water. and it just so happened to be on a quest that percy turned down.

then he’s gone for like 7ish months and when he gets back suddenly everything’s different he’s always covered up never really wanting to show off and you don’t really understand until he’s sleeping on the couch and his shirts a little disheveled so you walk over to fix him up and put a blanket on him and maybe take a pic bc that’s your son and you notice smth pinky and puffy on his skin so you lift it up a little further and he has claw marks stab marks deep cuts everywhere
up until this point you leave everything up to him what he wants to tell you when he wants to tell you or even if he ever will tell you
he wakes up screaming having trouble breathing he sobs into your arms when you go to his room and even when he falls asleep at the dining room table while attempting to study he wakes up holding the closest pen to him like a sword
7 months of his life blipped away and this is how he comes back :( like that’s so sad
