So what if you’re alone right now. Embrace it. Go get coffee alone. Shop alone. Drive alone. Watch movies alone. Get to know yourself. Nothing bad can come from riding whatever wave to self improvement you’re blessed with in the moment.
“The best revenge is no revenge. Move on. Be happy.”
— Unknown
being alive is like a whole fucking thing dude ive only been here 23 years and can only really remember like 10 of those years at most and yet im literally immobilized by fear and anxiety i have no clue what i want and yet i am mad at myself for not moving fast enough? like towards what? for who? who is even going to hand me a medal for living correctly? like what would happen if i was just content but like no one knew and i told no one. would that still count? i think it would
“Do not sabotage your new relationships with your old relationship’s poison.”
— Steve Maraboli
I remember first learning that you can cry from any emotion, that emotions are chemical levels in your brain and your body is constantly trying to maintain equilibrium. so if one emotion sky rockets, that chemical becomes flagged and signals the tear duct to open as an exit to release that emotion packaged neatly within a tear. Everything made sense after learning that. That sudden stability of your emotions after crying. How crying is often accompanied by the inability to feel any other emotion in that precise moment. And it is especially beautiful knowing that it is even possible to experience so much beauty or love or happiness that your body literally can’t hold on to all of it. So what I’ve learned is that crying signifies that you are feeling as much as humanely possible and that is living to the fullest extent. So keep feeling and cry often and as much as needed
SHIT WHAT
Also let yourself cry. It really is a biochemical release valve to dump out all the chemicals that make you feel stuff.
I honestly think one reason men in western culture have so many problems is that we don’t let them cry, and literally their brains get stuffed with all this crap that doesn’t have a release valve. Men, please cry. You’ll feel better. It’s ok. You are not lesser for taking care of your health.
This is why tears from different emotions look different under an electron microscope. They’re literally made up of different things.
Happy tears are structurally different than sad tears than angry tears than overwhelmed tears etc.

— Jeanette Winterson (via purplebuddhaquotes)
I need to learn to say “no” sometimes.
Ten Commandments Of Happy
1) be your authentic self
2) make time for those you love
3) treat other people as you’d like them to treat you
4) if it hurts you, let it go
5) change your thoughts - and that will help change your feelings
6) don’t put it off another day. if it’s important, then do it today
7) enjoy the journey - it’s not just about end goals
8) you only live one life, so make it meaningful to you
9) be kind to others
10) always find a reason to laugh and smile
“I love you wildly, insanely, infinitely.”
— Boris Pasternak, Doctor Zhivago (via books-n-quotes)
“Beautiful girl, take care of yourself. No-one else knows what your soul needs.”
— AstonG
I wish you happiness.
I wish you a healthy well-being.
I hope you never lose yourself again.
I love you.
Take care.
Who would’ve known that it would end like this?
My hearts broken, it’s time to let you go
there’s a website where you put in two musicians/artists and it makes a playlist that slowly transitions from one musician’s style of music to the other’s
it’s really fun
lady gaga -> napalm death takes a weird detour through epic rap battles of history
This is actually really useful for finding music that’s in between genres that I wouldn’t know to look for.
This has nothing to do with books but it’s COOL
I feel like this could be useful for trying to slowly pull yourself away from your depression music to something more uplifting without it being jarring…
Exactly what I was thinking?? I love this???
(Edit: Accidentally reblogged this to my main so now I gotta make it witchy lol. But imagine the potential uses for this in a ritual setting. Rags to riches? Sad/nervous to empowered/confident? Mourning a loss to celebrating life again?)
For some reason Deserts Chang to Pablo Lopez hits up Grease and the Doc McStuffins Theme Song on the way.
