Hello! This is a cute little introduction to my blog!

As mentioned in my bio, I'm currently a physics undergrad (I also <3 math).

Likes: painting, rock music, calico critters, and pineapple juice

Dislikes: carbonated drinks, biology (respectfully), and fluorescent lighting

Goals this summer:

I might do some kind of productivity challenge or no social media challenge and use this blog as motivation to actually follow through.

Workout and get super buff, duhh

get back into drawing and art, and why I even do it in the first place

I had a tumblr blog before where I just reblogged cute studyblr posts but didn't really post or interact but I'm excited to actually engage with other people. (also trying to get a part of my soul back through blogging)

Day 1/10 of productivity

Hello! I'm doing a little bit of a study challenge to force myself to study for the GRE, EEEK!!!!

Today's to-do list:

do 20-25 mechanics problems (or at least attempt them)

work on my application for a fly in program

GUESS WHAT TIME IT IS???

.... time to study for the Physics GRE :((((((((((((

I have a little bit of an ambitious study plan today, but I'm going to try my best to get as much done as possible!!

My study plan as follows:

Take a diagnostic GRE test and see how I score before studying (likely going to bomb XD)

Work on mechanics practice problems!! ~10 for practice, really think about strategy, 10-15 higher speed problems!!!

Tomorrow I'll do more mechanics practice problems!!!

I wanna see people carrying category theory textbooks as “light morning reading,” equipped with their black coffee and trench coats

they’re not like other mathematicians

I board the busy train. There are delays on the line today, but that’s okay - I’m in no rush.

I notice that there is one available seat amongst a family of three. I approach knowing that the intense stare from the parents belied a shared, childlike wonder for the true nature of the distribution of the prime counting numbers.

I smile a soft, inward smile.

I take my seat, place my chilled bottle of Smartwater on the table and from my canvas tote-bag remove, slowly and in sequence:

a slim-ruled, 80gsm, off-white A4 note pad and accompanying Pilot G-TEC-C4 gel pen (black ink, of course);

a CASIO fx-CG50, its protective casing bearing the scars of a thousand theories and its ‘shift’ button worn to a nub; and

a pristine copy of “on bounded gaps between primes” (it thuds onto the shared table in perfect middle C).

I mumble sweet nothings whilst I squint and strain to pretend to clean my circular wire-frame glasses with a microfibre cloth (I cleaned them moments ago on the station platform.)

A steady stream of conscious subconsciousness permeates the carriage.

“RH… cannot be a Gödel problem…”, “Goldbach… twin primes… both trivial when you think about them…”

Finally, as the train begins to depart, I reach up to place my bag in the overhead storage.

Upon raising my arms, tote aloft above my head, the small of my back is revealed by the untucking of my shirt.

That poor soul, sat in the seat immediately behind me and to my left - my future partner - never stood a chance the moment they laid eyes on the barely perceptible tramp stamp that simply but unmistakably read:
