Planning to make a 12-mandala calendar using seasonal color palettes soon... Some plants don’t press well but photo prints will do the trick! These winter colors would make a great January:)

Goodwill on SE Grand Ave gave me one of the greatest picture frame hauls ever!! This is very exciting to me. Many squares for my mandalas! See a frame you like? I’ll make you a custom piece!! 😘💚 @lydieacutthroat 🖤

These 2 pieces showcase the AMAZING fall colors of 2019. They seemed to be extra vivid last year. Did anybody else notice that?
The piece on the left is made of Smoketree leaves- I let out an audible gasp when I saw the rainbow of colors on each leaf! What a incredible show!
And the gorgeous orange leaves on the other piece? Those are from a Forest Pansy Eastern Redbud tree. One of my favorite ornamental trees but I’ve never seen it with colors like that!
9.5” x 9.5”
One beautifully speckled Smoketree leaf.
It just seemed like that frame and that leaf were destined to be together. I usually start with the frame and create the artwork from there. Sometimes they make themselves- I just have to listen.
10” x 8” Spirea and Queen Anne’s Lace.
The Spirea twigs are from early spring- you would not believe the AMAZING rainbow colors that are the tiny new leaves as they emerge (pictured below). They soon turn to shades of green.
PS When orange plant material goes into the plant press, it comes out purple! So cool! 🧡💜
My favorite Mandala!
