Every single person who said that Tom Taylor's run "starts off" great and then gets worse is going straight to hell. No wonder so many people have awful opinions about Nightwing if this is the n1 "beginner friendly" run. Please, read literally anything else

Usually when people talk about this scene they either point out the subtle queer coding in Joey's character or that his true reason for rejecting Kole is related to his ex-fiancee, but he's obviously just being a decent guy here. A girl who never dated before due to her controlling father offers to have sex with you after she freshly escaped at least two years of imprisonement. Doesn't sound like someone you should say "yes" to, no? I'd say that Kole misreading Joey's intentions as romantic is also iffy and shows her lack of grasp on the situation. I seems to me that Kole has developed a distorted view on love/romance (which isn't surprising after spending so much time in servitude of a woman who burned her lovers alive)

If DC writers weren't a bunch of pussies they'd have made Kori struggle with expressing herself in English without infantalizing her

I imagine that Tamarinian is more focused on emotions that most Earth languages, so Kori sometimes has trouble saying what she feels, because the words she'd normally use don't exist
