Helios Apollodorus, The Dawnbringer
I don't really post much on Tumblr...but I'm trying to change that! So here's some stuff about one of my Primarch OCs :3
Helios is the product of an AU where there were more than the original 20 Primarchs. He is the Primarch of the 23rd Legion, the Dawnbringers. As you can probably tell by his name, he's from a planet that's based off of ancient Greece, similar to Olympia. Though I do have the idea that some of the regions of the planet were similar to areas of Egypt. Despite his name being Helios, I actually based him off of Apollo- His home world is named Apollodorus, which is where he got his last name. He didn't actually conquer the planet, nor did he become a ruler of any kind. Really, he was more akin to a celebrity of sorts, being a renowned musician, athlete, and poet. He was found by the Emperor around the year 850.M30, just a year after Perturabo was discovered.
I would say that he was one of the only Primarchs to have actually loved all his brothers. That didn't mean he always liked them of course, but he certainly loved all of them, even after the Heresy. This was mainly because of his personal philosophy. See, in his mind, life is...well, pointless. There's no grand meaning or design; no fate that a person is locked into the moment they're born. However, he does believe that we can make meaning in life, that we can give ourselves purpose, and that, to him, is the pinnacle of beauty. To forge our own purpose in a purposeless world. Because of this mindset, while he may not like all his brothers, he certainly loves them. Most of them have found what they believe to be their purpose and act accordingly, so who is he to judge them? Now that doesn't mean he overlooks their actions or thinks that they shouldn't be punished for the things they've done, but in his mind their actions stim from what makes them beautiful in the first place, and he just can't bring himself to hate them for that.
I'm no artist, BUT! I do think I'm fairly talented with Hero Forge, so here's the model that I created for Helios. His bow, which he received from the Emperor, can focus his psychic power into arrows. Usually, he uses this to create arrows of pure flame, since the psychic discipline that he's most skilled with is Pyromancy. Still working on the details of his backstory and everything, but my current idea is that during the Heresy his flagship was swallowed up by the Warp and when it returned to real space, he found that he was sent forwards into the modern 40k setting.
