Learning languages is a lot like being in a committed relationship. You really love your tl, would do anything for them, & want to keep improving your relationship with them over time so that maybe one day you two can settle down in a quaint little town called Fluency, but next thing you know your tl is torching your car because they found out that you snuck out in the middle of the night to learn bedroom vocabulary with another language.
