felicity used to spend days, weeks, blacked out of her mind. waking up in foreign cities, sometimes countries, unsure how she got there. she used to think it was alcohol induced until she stopped drinking. now when she woke up to the ashy taste in her mouth she knew what had happened.Â
it was still dark enough, as she wondered the streets in her rags, questionable stains covering her clothes. she had no home and she doubted the hotel she was staying at would let her in. she sluggishly made her way to the umbrella academy mansion.Â
only when she stood in front of it there was only rubble left, police tape was wrapped around the front gates but she doubted it would stop anyone. for a long while she stood there, blinking in confusion. how long had she been out? fee turned, catching the wrist of a passing stranger. “what day is it?” she asked, voice rough. they pulled their hand away in disgust leaving felicity standing there alone.
sitting down on the ground felicity brought her knees to her chest; her mind still fuzzy, trying to piece back together her memory.Â
Griffin always passed by the Academy or what was left of it on his way home from work, his hand and taser shoved into his jacket pocket as he walked along the mostly empty streets at four in the morning. The cast limited him to hoping that whoever would try to mug him or kidnap him was on his left side where his unbroken arm was so he could give them a proper tasing.
He stopped several feet away when he noticed a shadowy figure hanging along the remains of the Academy. He would be stupid to trust someone who looked like shit this late at night but, he didn’t need to trust her. He just had to relieve his conscience of the guilt that was already being placed because he contemplated walking on the opposite sidewalk.Â
With hesitance, he approached Felicity with one hand still in his jacket pocket and the other hanging in its sling. “Hey,” he spoke softly as he tried to catch her attention. “Are you good? No offense but you look like shit and I just thought maybe I could check on you in case you just escaped from a kidnapper or a sex trafficker or something.” He shrugged.
