used to think it terribly silly (and kinda funny) when fantasy or sci-fi stories would have people refer to major recent historical events as The Flood or The Incident or The Revolution, and im sure historians fucking hate that because it's not helpful or descriptive, but we sure do be calling it The Pandemic
somewhere in tumblr hq, circa late 2025:
"okay so if they click the replies button it shows them the replies"
"makes sense. and if they click the likes button it shows them the likes?"
"no, it likes the post."
"o...kay. and so if you click the reblogs button, does it reblog the post or show the reblogs?"
"hehehe...that's the really genius part. it's a whole different thing again"
"perfect. push it."
*sees your post, takes cigar out of mouth and rubs forehead* dont make me unfollow you, kid
my parents are in the process of selling my childhood home.. it's taken a couple weeks for it to really hit me, or maybe it's that i'm nostalgic and also in a very weird place rn where a lot of stuff is ending but new things haven't quite started yet.. but whatever the reason, it's hitting me all of a sudden. the place i called home for pretty much my entire conscious life will be sold and some strange family will move in. the burial sites of our cats will remain there. despite it having changed a lot since i moved out, and not much, if anything, remaining the way it was when i lived there, it's still quite a lot more painful than i'd anticipated.
