hey!! hope this isn't too weird feel free to ignore me lol but your post on the sketch group community (where you ask for tips on drawing faces from different angles) came up on my dash, and I really dont feel like joining any communities but I'd love to help you out!!
I really like the top drawing on your page, first of all. idk what order you did the drawings in, but the nose on that one is really well done!! the front view face is also really lovely.
one thing I think i might be noticing is how you use your guidelines. I can tell you know what lines you should be drawing, but I feel like there might be a disconnect between the lines and what you actually end up drawing, if that makes sense? which is totally fine!! a few tips that I think could help with practicing:
-keep in mind what the guidelines are for! from what I can see, you're drawing an eyeline pretty consistently. that normally falls about halfway on the actual head, and should go through the middle of both eyes. if you want to break it down further, the eyebrows and the bottom of the nose divide the head into thirds! guidelines are really helpful to make sure that all the features are proportional!
-when you look at a reference, try to imagine where the guidelines should go on the face. you can even trace over the reference first to get a better sense! but make sure that if youre tracing, you're not just outlining features. it's only really helpful if you use it to understand the shapes of the face and how it's "built", if that makes sense.
-when looking at faces, it helps me a lot to try and break them up into simpler forms to begin with. this can get tricky though if when youre drawing, you focus really hard on one feature at a time. then even if you draw them all really good, they look disproportionate put together. that's why I like to focus on the biggest shapes first, like the shape of the head, and then roughly sketch in individual features with very very little detail before going in and refining!! if i had time I would draw you a little guide but I'm writing this so late rn lol
-lastly, when it comes to side profiles specifically, I really started to figure them out after seeing a Pinterest tutorial like. 4 years ago lmao. so I can't find it but I will try and describe it!! basically, after you draw the shape of the head, (a circle and a triangle for the jaw, just like you have in yours!!) and the eyeline, draw a diagonal rectangle with the lower top corner intersecting with the eyeline, and ending past the side of the face. that helps you place the eye and the nose, since from the side, the eye looks like a triangle! then you can extend the line from the bottom corner out to make the top lip. hopefully that isn't too horribly explained lol.
a couple more helpful proportion tips is that the top of the ear generally aligns with the eyebrows, and the bottom of the ear with the bottom of the nose. also, the ear sits where the jaw connects to the back of the skull, so when drawing a side profile, it shouldn't be too far back!
i hope these are helpful and again, if you want to ignore me feel free I won't be offended!! I really am just a random stranger sending you this and i am by no means the ultimate authority on art so dont even worry if you dont want to answer. your art is really amazing!!! I hope you have a great day!!
THANK YOU SO MUCH!!! ACK you might be a life saver!!! I hope you have an amazing day!
This coming out just days after it was revealed in the Jeffrey Epstein email dump that powerful people manipulated American and British news, political figures and forums to push transphobia to distract from people looking at their child abuse ring.
This includes chief anti-Corbyn-ite in Labour Peter Mandelson, directly feeding anti-trans stories to UK and US newspapers, actively bullshiting "biological studies" that trans people are idk ontologically evil (we have proof of Epstein pitching this exact thing), and creating /pol/ and then feeding anti-trans conspiracy theories for years until it all boiled over.
And over and over we found out each plank of this argument was rotten from the start but people are choosing to keep the bigotry.
Yelling “we got company” right before being attacked by a horde of enemies probably feels good as fuck for an action protagonist
normalize being dogshit amateur at your special interests and hyperfocuses. no more autistic savants. yes i am very into that topic no i am not good at it. we exist <3
