Making more designs and concepts for the daughters of Atlas,,,,

Still working on these three, but I’ve been busy with work lol. 🧡🤍🩵

Working on a Freddy re-design as well, but this one’s a bit of a rush job because it’s like 1am and I really wanna go to bed LOL

I also have some concept models done of the Rock of Eternity as well. I want it to kinda be a floating island diamond-shape looking thing. The bottom half of the diamond kinda like the floating islands in Steven Universe, and then the top part being kinda grassy mountains helping to make the diamond shape,,, I also need to add the little thrones in there. I was also thinking of maybe a little cave area in the mountain, but idk yet. I obi don’t have the skills to model that so I would have to draw it all by hand,,, so we’ll see~ ✨⚡️❤️

Drawing an updated Shazam/Captian Marvel design!! ⚡️❤️

Lots of minor tweaks over the past year but I’m pretty happy with the updated version. I’ve been trying to understand 3D shapes & drawing forms since I started drawing Shazam and I’m excited to learn more! ^_^

Trying to re-work my Shazam character designs. Obi first up is Billy.

I didn’t want to modify them too much because I like what I’ve done so far. However, I really wanna try and them them all model sheets, so that requires a lot more focus and intention with my lineart than I’m used to lol,,,

I was also inspired to work on this today specifically because I read the new chapter. At first I thought it was gonna be the same, “Billy’s long-lost parent ruins Vasquez family adoption” plot line that the new52 had, but I was pleasantly surprised. I can’t tell which run I like better so far because like,,, I’m really confused on why Billy & the Captain are 2 different people??? I have a hard time following that part. But, I enjoy the characterization a LOT more in this one. In the new 52 Billy is a little too much of an asshole imo. 💀

Like, I think in this new Dawn of DC version of Billy would have never yelled at Darla, and wouldn’t have picked random fights with Mary. Unlike his 2013-2019 counterpart lol. I really DO like characters who are a bit jaded & a little snarky though. I guess it’s a fine line that writers have to try and not cross.

Anyways that was my little ramble. If you would like to discuss the new run with me, or maybe let me know which version of Billy you prefer both my DMs & comments are open, as always. :)

Kalypso’s Powers~ ✨🌀

Here is some of my writing for my version of the Daughters of Atlas. Since they’re from the magic realm I thought I would make their skin colorful, similar to the gods from Disney’s Hercules.

This is just a little story sample I had in my mind when I was envisioning how I want her powers to work. The way they work in Fury of the Gods is cool and all, but I wanted to add something more fantastical and visually wicked.

And don’t worry guys once the Shazamly comes to Billy’s rescue the curse of madness gets reversed. Just having his family around him to validate that magic is real, and to check in on him is enough to reverse the damage done to his psyche and return his arms/veins to normal.

Although, please do be warned, Kalypso’s curse is no joke because once the curse has fully corrupted a person, there is no cure to their madness, and their mental state will be permanently altered.

Making slight tweaks to my current art style,, as in trying to use line weight? I’m still experimenting with it so I thought I would make another Freddy & Billy drawing because I need practice drawing character interactions as well lol. Much to learn, as always lol :p

Just read the new Shazam comic and thinking about re-designing my outfit for Freddy. I thought the blue scarf was a serve, but I think I only really liked it in Dan Mora’s art style lol.

Anyways, as I was reading I was thinking about how I’m kinda not a fan of when writers kinda write Shazam & Billy as two different people? I’ve seen a few iterations of the comics do this but I’m never sure why? It just kinda seems like more work imo to write them as separate characters???

Maybe there is some appeal in like the magical “other-self” or “idealized-self” areas of fantasy, but I feel like the Shazam mythos covers that either way? Anyways that’s my hot take lmk which you prefer and drop a comment if you wanna let me know your reasoning~ ✨

You know despite not even drawing Shazam for a year yet, my character designs still go through constant little tweaks and edits. I’m trying really hard on trying to draw form & 3D shapes right now though, and that’s causing some technical issues when I draw Billy’s hair,,, I’ll have to study up on some comics or something haha,,,

The colors on my iPad look janky as hell as I draw this 💀 but I wanted to draw another quick exploration drawing for my Shazam “powers of living lightning” concept thingy. Idk

Maybe I’ll remaster and color/shade it fully but for now it’s just flats with some overlays lol

It feels like I’ve been only finishing sketches lately,,, but I’ve been kinda busy so whoopsies. Maybe when I color this one I can also include my whole “living lighting” concept thingy I made up a while ago on an old post with some blueish glow-y type battle marks idk. ~✨

Felt like drawing some expressions/ light angst kinda art so ye. Maybe if I get around to it I can do expression sheets next since I’ve never really done those before.
