the only thing I don't really appreciate about Rule of Wolves is the way it made it seem like Kaz and Jesper and Wylan don't talk or help each other out unless it's for Inej. I mean ik at the end of Crooked Kingdom they split up but I didn't think it meant they would literally stop talking. I just thought they'd stop working together in the Crow Club.
Wait it did that? I haven’t read RoW in years, and even then I accidentally read it before SoC, I had no idea SoC existed, so when those three came up I was like ‘who tf are these people and why should I care’ and did not pay attention so I don’t remember shit about them in RoW. But wait how did it imply that, if someone doesn’t mind refreshing me?
"But now you know why I don't visit more often"
"No one asked you to visit more often a ND I don't remember issuing an invitation for lunch"
"It's for Inej"
"Why didn't you say so? What do you need?"
Idk to me this didn't feel like 2 friends that see each other every other week or so. It feels like 2 friends that despite living close never talked to each other.

Yes to this but…I fear there are many other things I don’t appreciate about Rule of Wolves.
r we are talking about the tunnels Nikolai made from lazaylon to os alta. bc considering they have durasts and tidemakers it doesn't seem too difficult to imagine.
No. No. The fact that in a year Kaz Brekker has supposedly constructed secret tunnels from the crow club to Wylan’s mansion. That is like the whole length of Ketterdam. A city on water. The canals. He just came into money. What are we doing. Rule of Wolves is full of nonsense—
I mean sewage systems exist. Sewers tunnels and canals are typically big enough for people to walk through them. Scientifically it makes sense. Now the idea that Kaz built a whole new sewage system just to travel to Wylans house is ridiculous. It would've made more sense if he'd just copied existing tunnels and canals for his own purposes.

Nina and Zoya's friendship means so much to me. Like that's the closest thing either of them had to family for so long.
Kaz was wrong for calling Inej an investment. It's not a joke, it's not him being a poor little baby who doesn't understand social cues. He said something extremely hurtful and dehumanizing and we don't have to defend him on that. He has a lot of growing to do and it's why their ending at Crooked Kingdom makes so much sense.
there's just something about the trope of a woman who doesn't feel like she deserves peace or love and the guy who wants to give her all of that and more.
so confused with how people see kaz as wylans father figure. baby if anything thats his cousin he sees twice a year and its really awkward in the first hour of seeing each other, but by the end of the function theyre causing indescribable havoc
Wesper and Kanej mean everything to me but I can't say that I didn't love Kaz x Jesper for a little bit.
Honestly i’d argue that Kanej ARE also together in a “heteronormative societal” sense and a lot of people just have really bad comprehension skills and need things spoonfed to them so they miss that the ship scene marks the start of their relationship and think there was no progression from earlier in the books where they’re clearly in love but not dating yet. Like it’s explicitly romantic intimate and exclusive that’s pretty much the bench mark for the average relationship and people fixate on the physical aspect of it but ignoring that that’s also a perfectly natural thing for people to not want in their relationships plenty of people do want it and still wait for a multitude of reasons from simply wanting to move slow or waiting for marriage or being long distance and physically not being able to do it and kanej are pretty solidly the second category
I agree!!! ppl see them not having sex or kissing and decide they're not together. I honestly said they're not together in a normal societal way bc I doubt they refer to each other as partners in this day and age. However it is clear that's what they are just not as traditional as one would see. And I agree with people needing info spoonfed to them. It was an ambiguous ending as in how they heal from here. Not on whether they decided to heal together or not.
Ppl that say Kanej aren't together kinda confuse me bc yah according to societal and heteronormative expectations they aren't. They are not boyfriend and girlfriend. That's not "her man". But they're together in every other way. They are committed to each other in a way outside of traditional romance even if someday it does lead to that. They are very much not "just friends".
I literally cannot pick a favorite Crow bc it changes everyday. Today it's Wylan. But tomorrow it could be Kaz or Jesper. It's also Inej a lot. And I love Mathias and Nina. Ranking Crows even just picking one to put at first literally impossible I'm sorry.
anyone that doesn't believe that kaz loves all the crows as much as he loves inej (in a different way but just as much) is wrong.
Genya her entire life never had anyone or anything safe. Until she met Alina. Alina was her first true friend, her first companion in a place where everyone envied her. Where nobody protected her. Alina was one of the many reasons why Genya was able to find comfort in no longer being beautiful. She was the reason Genya was able to open her heart to more people, to the triumvirate, to Nikolai, to David. Because Alina showed her there were trustworthy people in this world. She served Nikolai because Alina had trusted that he would help make the world a better place. Once he earned Alina's trust, he forever earned Genya's.
They could never make me hate you Zoya Nasyalensky.
kaz refuses to admit this but this is the post crooked kingdom dynamic
