victor vale feels very kaz brekker
See idrc usually what pieces of fanon you subscribe to but 'kaz is wylan's father figure' in any capacity pisses me off purely because I know it's rooted in ableism.
downloaded sims 4 and the first thing i did was make the crows ❤️🩹
spent some time playing it and it turns out that my kaz sim doesn’t even sleep and constantly gets exhausted to the point of passing out. when he does sleep he ends up napping on a random couch lmao
i put matthias and kaz in the same bedroom just to see what would happen and then matthias immediately wanted to go outside for eight hours straight
theyre so book accurate its so funny
I've already done language things I would like to see in the Grishaverse, now I'm doing fashion things I would like to see in the Grishaverse because I haven't seen anyone talk about this yet:
Everyday west Ravkan clothing being more colorful than east Ravkan clothing due to the greater access to trade
Zemeni clothing coming with more elaborate draping, beadwork, stitching, and metallic accents (ex: cloth of gold) because of their craftsman culture
The Kerch having more mass-produced clothing hence more color, pattern, and style options for the average consumer. Even better if that availability is the reason why merchants wear tailored black clothes to indicate status because simply having lots of color and patterns doesn't mean anything
Fossilized court dress in the Ravkan court (think Russian court fashion from the 1800s)
Fjerdans relying on craftsmanship (tailoring, intentionality, draping, and other small details) to indicate class because the climate/culture requires clothing to be practical, and therefore people use a lot of the same resources regardless of their position
Shu clothing managing to be very breathable and light to suit the warm climate even when covering the whole body or having multiple layers
Fjerdan fashion being very military-inspired
Kerch clothing being very mismatched because people scavenge individual pieces that don't necessarily have anything to go with them
Every time I watch a heist movie I get sad thinking of what we could’ve had for Six of Crows
I took some sleeping pills because sometimes when the periods starts it hurt so much id rather sleep the day away, things is when I do that the dreams are weird
Anyway I dreamed that I was drinking tea with Matthias Helvar, and I was sad cause I don't actually like tea. And at first he was sad because he made the tea but then he ran off to the window and turned into a blahaj plush and jump off
He fell into the sea and I was left behind but then he came back (as a human) and handed me a bag of maltesers
And then i woke up
I love how everyone in this fandom has had at least one baffling and weirdly in-character dream about the crows <3
“I think I relate to Kaz the most out of all the Crows.” Girl, you get anxiety induced nausea if the traffic light turns yellow while you’re halfway through the intersection wdym
Wanted to expand on my Wesper as green and fuschia
Wylan is a soft, earthy green you find in a forest. Maybe the color of moss or lichen or leaves. He’s green tinged with brown because he is down to earth and close to his roots. He’s grounding. He’s green because there is a bit of venom in his veins that doesn’t belong there. Venom from the bites if people he hated, who hurt him. He’s green because he is young and afraid and unsure. He’s green because he is, above all, honest. He’s green because he is good through and through. He’s green because he came into his own after being destroyed from the inside out and revived his own soul, half out of spite, half out of love.
Jesper is a rich fuchsia so vibrant you can see it in your peripheral no matter what you do. He’s fuchsia because he’s deep. He’s fuchsia because he’s bright and blazing and you have to blink if you look straight at him. He’s fuchsia because his laugh is loud and rich and contagious. He’s fuchsia because he’s bold. He’s resilient. He’s fuchsia because he masks himself behind humor and smiles, even though there is a stain of blood on his soul from his heart. He’s fuchsia because he runs straight at danger but away from himself. He’s fuchsia because through it all, he is bright and strong and the very essence of a beating heart
kaz “my gender is whatever works best for the job” brekker x jesper “my gender is whatever makes the funniest bit” fahey
It's so funny to me that Colm's dad voice worked on Kaz dirtyhands Brekker. Like this boy has killed and done all sorts of awful things but when a father figure scolds him for fighting he looks away guilty.
A concept: Kaz and Inej never need many words. They understand each other with or without them.
The train car was overly warm. Inej was confident of this fact because the other four people sharing the car with them seemed to be shedding their layers along with her.
Jesper and Wylan were left in just their waistcoats, Nina had taken off her shawl, and Matthias, in a show of very casual behavior coming from him, had rolled up his sleeves.
Kaz, on the other hand, was sitting stiffly beside her, his gloves and coat still firmly in place. If anything, his arms folded tightly across his chest seemed to suggest that he was cold.
He was next to the window of the car, his body as close to the wall as possible and staring resolutely out the window. Inej allowed him the space, keeping herself a safe distance away from him, closer to Wylan on her other side.
But, taking note of how odd he was looking, she tapped her knee briefly against his.
Only obvious enough to call his attention, not that of the others.
When he looked over to meet her eye, she raised a brow in question.
Are you okay? It said.
In response, he closed his eyes for a moment too long and swallowed thickly. He jerked his head slightly to the side.
No. Don’t feel well.
For him to do anything other than nod dismissively and turn back to the window was saying something in and of itself.
She cocked her head an inch to the side.
What’s wrong?
She realized he was shivering.
With two fingers, in a way that seemed casual, he tapped his head, his stomach, and his bad leg, trailing the hand along his body as if he’d just wiped his forehead and then let his arm drop.
Head, stomach, leg.
She wiped her hand across her forehead and raised a brow.
Fever?
He nodded briskly.
She tapped her finger against her lips.
Sick?
At first he shrugged. Then shook his head.
Not sure. Not yet.
She frowned at this, which, for the first time, caught Jesper’s attention. Everyone else was still talking amicably, laughing and joking quietly while they waited to return home.
She shook her head at Jesper, begging him to turn his attention elsewhere. He did, thankfully, seeming to understand.
He was likely noticing the same things she was.
Inej bumped his shoulder with hers. When she caught his eye, she glanced down at her shoulder.
Rest.
He hesitated, then shook his head. He swallowed again, his eyes dropping to her bare shoulder.
She nodded in understanding. She grabbed Nina’s discarded shawl from the bench next to her and draped it over her exposed skin.
She repeated the gesture.
I’m sorry. Better?
He nodded hesitantly and shifted a bit to the side, allowing his head to settle against her shoulder.
He was burning up, she realized. She was grateful they only had an hour left before they were back in Ketterdam.
She tapped his bad leg softly and gestured discreetly toward the empty part of the bench across from him, next to Jesper.
Jesper scooted slightly closer to Nina without looking over at them.
Kaz sighed and lifted his leg up onto the bench, stretching out his bad knee.
It didn’t take long at all for him to grow heavier.
She knew he hadn’t slept for days. Missions always took a lot out of him, especially when he felt obligated to keep an eye out the whole trip. She'd offered a few times to take watch, but he declined every time.
As he dozed off next to her, Nina and Jesper both caught her eye, confused and concerned looks on their faces.
Inej just shook her head, pursing her lips.
Don’t worry, I’ve got him.
With Nina’s shawl between her hand and his skin, she held his head lightly against her shoulder to keep it from dropping as he fell more deeply asleep.
Everyone else in the car pretended not to notice.
So, I’ve haven’t written any fics yet, but I’ve been think abt it, and I had an idea I wanted to share:
Basically, SoC craft store au Kaz Brekker is the 17 year old assistant manager of a Micheal’s-esk craft store who runs it like the navy (or so he chooses to believe). The crows are all teenaged idiot working together to take down a rival craft store. (Plus I can make all the crows into whatever crafts I’ve decided fit them😈)
I NEED to see the crows take down Hobby Lobby more than I need air…
i know we always talk about how inej represents magic to kaz but i just wanna say beyond the fact that she’s the disappearing coin—where as soon as he knew she could sneak up on him he figured out how she did it—the real essence of the magic he sees in her is her optimism.
throughout their entire time knowing each other, kaz couldn’t wrap his head around why someone who was dealt such a horrible hand by the world could still have faith in it and that’s what turns him back into the obsessed kid who stays up all night trying to figure out what makes the trick work (you know, the reason he fell in love with magic in the first place)
the best part? it’s not only not a trick, but kaz in turn becomes the thing that is magicked, just like the coin. the determination to heal and work through his trauma along with the belief that happiness still exists seem to appear out of thin air within him after years of being a pessimistic grouch. and just like how the coin is never actually gone, neither was that part of him!!! he just needed a little help finding it again.
idk i just love how in a world full of grisha who can literally stop a heartbeat or shift tides, inej is the one thing that makes him feel like anything is possible again.
something i really really hate is how lots of people in the six of crows fandom view inej (and as a result kane)j. i (partially) blame this on the show. i think a lot of people in the fandom often dont let inej be her own person which is odd because throughout inejs chapters she thinks about kaz significantly less than she thinks about her future and herself. i know its a product of misogyny but its really frustrating to watch inej get dumbed down. and its not just on the topic of kanej that she gets dumbed down but just in general. shes perceived as this morally perfect person whos never hurt a fly when she has KILLED people. and willingly continues to kill people. obviously she does not like killing but she DOES enjoy feeling dangerous and this is shown multiple times throughout the book. its really disheartening to see this part of inej get erased not just in the fandom but also in the show. most of inejs character was watered down to kaz and the rest of it was changed to her doing everything for a brother ? the whole point of inejs character is that she has self love ans self respect for herself. that she refuses to lay down and die and that she does not regret what she has to do to survive. that she will always ALWAYS choose herself and that is so so beautiful to see in a female character. on the other hand inej’s decision to choose herself does not mean she doesnt love or care about kaz. shes simply just not willing to lose herself over him and that is BEAUTIFUL. i think instead of believing that inej doesnt love kaz for choosing herself and refusing to lose herself by attempting to save him and by accepting the way he treated her pre “i will have u without ur armor” scene, we should all take a page out of her book and remember to not forget ourselves in the face of love. to not forget our personal goals and to not settle to. i love inej ghafa so much i wish people would take her as she is because she is a femnomenal character with complexities and an inspiring story and she is more than her relationship with kaz.
Six of Crows:
Actually begging all of you to watch this video, their channel is very crows-core. To me.
i want to see kaz brekker in a therapy session with hannibal lecter as his therapist, i think it would be hilarious
