Queerness being normal and not something to be debated at all in the six of crows books is something that genuienly set my bar for books wayyy too high. You're telling me I will eventually have to move on and read another book????
i'm sooo entertained by the idea of kaz arguing with wylan about his composition. like first of all, the audacity of this boy? the equivalent would be to give jesper tips on how to aim his shot.
and also. jesper just sitting there between them while this goes down is hilarious cause you just know he was *shook* that his nice, sweet boyfriend could go on a rant like this, putting kaz brekker in his place by using words like "modulation" and "tonicalization" and "appoggiatura".
for all he knows, kaz is being cursed in front of his eyes. jesper's doing what he's told cause otherwise he's scared wylan will set the house on fire.
at some point marya comes to see what all the noise is about and jesper is like idk what's happening i think kaz broke your son, please help?
- Kaz has many hyperfixations/special interests. Magic, lock-picking, and honestly I would even consider his meticulous plans and schemes as hyperfixations to an extent.
- Socially detached, he struggles with/doesn’t care about social rules, standards, or small talk. (ex: extremely blunt, isolating himself from his own crew [the dregs], etc)
- Tends to be very literal
- He has very set rules in his mind about how people are and how society as a whole acts. (He struggled to believe that a father couldn’t be loving, he believes every single person has the same motive and drive for money and self-interest.)
- Routine is Kaz’s best friend
- He is like always stimming (ex: whenever he’s stressed he flexes/stretches/curls his hand up, twirling his cane, tracing the crow head on his cane, rolling coins, running hand through hair, etc)
But of course these are just the mundane things and I could be over analyzing
Netflix is pissing me off cause we could've had 3 seasons of lore accurate shadow and bone and a spin off six of crows show with this top tier casting of the crows but instead we get 2 seasons of rushed, mismatched, timeline inaccurate television.
WHAT VOICE TYPES THE CROWS WOULD BE IF THEY WERE THEATRE KIDS AND COULD ALL SING
kaz: tenor. bc it’s fucking hilarious for him to be the male tenor I KNOWWWW it’s inaccurate but come on it’s funny as!! he gets cast as the male lead all the time. i think this is so funny. he’s definitely played jack kelly and is really fucking annoying about santa fe. lowkey his dream role is frank jr in catch me if you can. pleeeaase i beg suspend your disbelief and see my vision 😁😁
jesper: baritone/baritenor. he sits sort of in the middle but sings the bari line in harmonies. would love comedy roles and of course comedy shows in general. his dream role would be nick in something rotten lowkey. he is also a fantastic dancer imo. he was definitely davey when the school did newsies. he was enjolras in les mis.
wylan: tenor maybe countertenor lowkey. his high range is unmatched. he would obviously play orpheus when the school does hadestown. also he was crutchie when the school did newsies and he carries the high harmonies. kaz plays jean valjean, wylan is marius. theyve got the best fucking high school theatre program ever. he has the best singing voice of all the crows and perfect pitch.
nina: mezzo sop belter absolutely. she was the school’s eponine (which i also feel like is one of her dream roles so she was SO EXCITED and poured her soul into it) and the schools katherine. she’s the female lead. she really wants to play roxie in chicago. she’s also the best fucking actor in the program. cannot dance. she is also the resident glee fan.
inej: she is a sop 2. girl is singing the C6s and she was definitely cosette. she was also eurydice and im vibing like a featured dancer in newsies. lowkey spot conlon or race. best dancer in the school. she’s a featured dancer all the time and also the dance captain. dream role is meg in phantom of the opera (she wants to danceee and she also wants to sing those high notes).
matthias: bass!!! he’s hades in the schools production of hadestown 10000%. watches glee with nina and clocks that kaz always gets the references even if he denounces glee out loud. matthias cannot dance either and nina definitely played persephone so the choreographer had a great time with their dance… matthias played pulitzer in newsies. he also played javert. his dream role is captain von trapp in the sound of music.
people always talk about the doomed love timeloop when they talk about hadestown. look i love that shit as much as the next homosexual but can we please talk about the revolutionary politics. genuinely one of the best anticapitalist pieces of art of the 21st century. can we watch act 2 with our brains please
