As heartbreaking as that scene was, it's realistic. MJ isn't going to love Peter because she doesn't remember him. You wouldn't be able to just immediately love someone because they went up to you and told you all of these things they claim to have had with you.

It made me think, you don't necessarily TRULY love someone based off of what they look like or what their personality is. Like yeah those are things that help, but what really makes you love someone/makes them hard to let go is memories.

When you build memories with someone, you're building a home. It's associating specific things with them that others wouldn't necessarily notice or know, it's having trust, all these special moments is what makes YOUR relationship to that person unique.

Through thick and thin, the beautiful and ugly, it's when you stay through all of it. That's how you know you love someone. THAT'S true love.
