i may be overcomplicating things but given the appearance of more danger days refs on the tour & recent changes in the routine (as of wembley night 2) i have some additional thoughts around my prev theories

as for the relevance of the killjoys imo theres 3 possibilities:

1. in-narrative continuity - tbp are the revived or cloned killjoys (and/or og black parade) being held prisoner by blind and cloned or brainwashed or time looped....

2. metanarrative continuity - tbp are mcr being brainwashed and/or cloned or etc. by the 'real world' company blind or another company (warner brothers stand-in) posing as (or working with)*draag to reinforce the brainwashing that the band were Actually tbp/killjoys and not mcr

*i still think draag might not be real in-fiction

3. no narrative continuity, just nods to the remastered album & korses actor being present (this is fine but will not serve our thought experiments so im ignoring this possibility)

if we're taking the meta route, something ive been considering is whether anyone onstage Actually Dies At All in-fiction. im leaning toward no but it depends on how representative the sfx are or not. rather, if the band + the draag ensemble are simply being brainwashed to believe they are time looping or being cloned or reset.... they may only need to be given a cue to "die" and believe it is real. (the red phone, the end reprise with the stage mark for g's corpse, etc.) it can be completely part of the theatrical production that has supplanted their reality while being an obvious contradiction to the audience.

that logic would also enable certain cast members to be exempt from the brainwashing/looping/cloning and still appear after having "died" or when they shouldn't be present according to the routine. not sure if this is the case yet but i think todays show will maybe shed some light on that re sylvia mary ann and the secretary. they could be looping too

going back to the false death—i think this would justify why the new jersey postcard enabled gerard to get up again at the last 2025 show. it broke through the fictional premise of the conditioning enough to resist the trigger to "die" or stay "dead" if briefly.

ofc. thats provided theyre not actually immortal or dead in purgatory for 200+ years..........

reconditioning failed -> gerard and the clerk become friends -> show starts to fall apart -> GID is pissed -> calls in Her to personally oversee the shows -> she’s pissed her job is on the line -> pulls out all the stops (sylvia), still doesnt work -> aloof personality starts to fall apart -> fires clerk -> has to do clerks job -> fully succumbs to madness (pierrot suicide sequence)

i’m still of the belief the sex hospital was a prequel sequence but if you think all the tour legs happen sequentially it also fits that after tampa they were sent back for more reconditioning until they were “ready to work” again + graduated then despite all that it STILL didnt work hence Her direct involvement
