Unfortunately it's come to my attention that someone has used lines from Those in a oneshot on ao3 with not even a mention.

I'd like to think that it wasn't intentional, but if you compare them side by side and the fact that they have definitely read Those (my sources are excellent private investigators as it turns out 😂), it puts me in a difficult position and makes me sad.

Tiny small beans in the great scheme of things, but creators shouldn't steal from creators, so I feel that I have to make an example of it publicly. I have, however, removed character names and I won't link to the fic or doxx the individual in question because I don't want any of that nonsense.

So we have the fairly well known cabbage fuckery and elevatorgate. Neither are slang and it's kind of blatant, so I don't think this is a misplaced accusation. You didn't even change the vegetable. Sigh.

On a personal note, this has made me sad and made me question writing fic if it's not respected. I didn't write ad-libs to be used by others in their stories. I write because I love it, I don't make anything out of it financially, but it's mine. What actually makes this worse is that you're not a bad writer. You don't have to do this. Write your own shit—I presume that you did for the most part. Otherwise it means nothing.

I'd appreciate you removing the lines or giving me credit for them. That's what the notes are for.

1. I Should Have Known Better by the Beatles (haha, IMMEDIATELY with the Beatles, I guess I SHOULD'VE KNOWN BETTER than to think it might not be the case... This really is one of their all-time bops to me though, probably the first Beatles song I ever got obsessed with. Such a good lil puppy love anthem!)
