Light yagami’s clear depressive symptoms aren’t talked about enough in the fandom. He is definitely not “just slightly bored” he’s anhedonic and intellectually lonely, due to his intelligence and how he’s always expected to be perfect. (The perfect student, perfect brother, perfect son) He’s popular, yes but he as barely any real friends who he actually cares about. The only people that he does harbour some semblance of care about is his family. No mentally well person would become a mass murderer with a god complex just to feel any form of dopamine boost.

He’s lowkey relatable in this aspect but we don’t talk about that

Ryuzaki plucked the stem and discarded it without a thought, examining the fruit at length. “They have their seeds on the outside. It’s an anatomical error.” His voice lifted a little, and he went on rather melodically, “You see, strawberries are backwards. They are just like me.”

He's spent years perfecting his craft and then some random fucker (with a totally lame name) swoops into town and all the public attention and credit goes to him instead. And it's not like he can complain about it because he's murdered people too and he's not mentally incoherent enough to go to one of those fancy jails so he'd just be stuffed in a regular concrete cell (which would clash with his desired aesthetic)

And to make it even worse, now the police and L think HE'S the spotlight hogging wannabe god edglord. It's really embarrassing but it's not like he can tell them he's an unrelated killer (and he wants to seem mysterious and dangerous and cool to L)

Took this AU and decided to run with it for LawLight week 2026 🩷

The title is so silly but as I was writing, I titled the chapters things like banana peel and strawberry seeds and then Fruit Salad became a joke and now it's stuck 🍌🍓🥔🍇 (yes the potato chips have a cameo)

I tried to incorporate all the prompts. I'm publishing ch1 on ace day bc it's my favorite prompt, not bc I'm late or anxious or anything like that. Teehee!!

headcanon that L doesn’t realise when he’s sick. L doesn’t live in his body, he’s only really his mind, he doesn’t care about his appearance or nutrition or anything, and due to that inattentiveness he usually doesn’t notice when he’s hungry, thirsty, sick, etc. i’d like to think people tell him he needs to rest because he’s ill, but he doesn’t really believe them and thinks hes perfectly fine, and gets very irritated when they insist that he rests.

Death Note AU where L and Light are the least gifted kids in their class. They struggle with all subjects, they fail most assignments. L is a few years older than Light because he was held back a few more years. They quickly become inseparable upon meeting, and it's still their intelligence that brings them together but this time it's their lack thereof.

Then one day they're sick of struggling so they pretend they're geniuses. They create a fantasy world they get to share where L is a world-famous detective and Light is a mastermind and the world bows at both their feet.

Everyone else looks at them weird but they're having the time of their life and they don't care about what anyone else thinks except each other.
