Fleshed out Sentinel and Megatron’s early relationship a bit
Primatronus Sparkling AU
Sentinel was the one who proposed to the Quintessons that Megatron being Megatronus and Prima’s sparkling had great potential. They would groom him into the perfect Prime weapon. They agreed to let him keep Megatron and he took him to the Prime Palace, giving Airachnid the duty of taking care of the sparkling’s needs until he reaches ready training age.
But.
Sentinel sometimes has a difficult time looking at Megatron. He despises those optics. That face. That frame. The resemblance to Megatron’s Prime parents overall. To Megatronus and Prima. It will all be worth it in the end (will it?) when he has a strong and loyal weapon at his servos.
It’s difficult for Sentinel to tell if he will grow to despise the copy as much as he did the originals.
Added details and changes:
•No D-16 name, named Megatron from the start (since it’s more in line with the AU)
•Gave him Megatronus’ wings
•Is found by Sentinel after he killed the Primes. No one besides Prima, Megatronus, Starscream, Soundwave, and Shockwave knew about the sparkling. Sentinel found Megatron in Prima’s arms, the sparkling miraculously alive despite its carrier being offlined
•The Quintessons’ part in this that’s mentioned in this post
•The High Guard don’t find out that Megatron is alive until way later
He is shocked by who the parents are of this universe’s him. Even more so when he learns this universe’s him is raised by Sentinel.
He has an intense hatred for Sentinel and hates how this version of him is serving Sentinel. He sees it as a parallel to the admiration he had to his Sentinel before the betrayal and anger he felt when he learned his Sentinel was a fraud.
Assumes this version would react similarly to how he did when he found out what Sentinel did. Especially since it’d be more personal given two of the Primes Sentinel offlined were his parents.

Spark Bonded AU:
Being bound to Sentinel sounds like a nightmare. Megatronus Prime on the other hand! Being able to interact with his hero would be a dream! But agrees that the two should not be spark-bound when feeling the intense hatred between the two.
He gets disappointed when this Megatronus Prime gives the cold shoulder to this universe’s him. Wonders if this is how his Megatronus Prime would react to him if he was alive.
Views this universe’s concept as a 50/50 and is the most similar to his own.

Raised by the High Guard AU:
He assumes they would make horrible parents, especially Starscream. And a bit surprised when they’re actually doing a decent job in raising and protecting him. The Guard keeps this version of him happy too.
He used to be innocent like this universe’s him…. He knows it won’t last long (it never does) but it’ll last longer than his did at least.
He supposes that this universe isn’t so bad. Soundwave at least seems the most responsible one out of them. While Shockwave has a slight edge over Starscream who’d be in last place in responsible bot with a sparkling.

Summary of AU:
D-16 is Megatronus and Prima's sparkling
^ Now add what happened in TF one (this AU is mostly based on TF one but has some aspects of other continuities)
D-16 is now parentless and the High Guard is gone
Sentinel takes full advantage of D-16 still being young to makes a "new Megatronus" (D-16 looks more like Megatronus), "kindly" taking in D-16 under his care
^ D-16 is told by Sentinel his parents death is on the Quintessons
D-16 now has to bear Megatronus' legacy, name, and mask
^ To some extent Prima's too but Sentinel prefers a Megatronus replacement more
D-16's role being the Lord High Protector (its bumped down to not be on the same level as a
Prime though)
^ Sentinel still wants most of the power belonging to him after all, it's just lowered enough to keep D-16 under his control
The High Guard during all this are just trying to find a way to expose Sentinel and get D-16 back, the latter being their main focus so Sentinel can't use D-16 against them
^ D-16 doesn't remember the High Guard (Sentinel messed with his processor) so they're having a hard time trying to get D-16 on their side
