WTF was that ending. Why did they start introducing new characters that last couple of episodes. It started really good. The suspense and strategy was chef’s kiss. The ending felt really rushed and my main man Xie Huai An was barely in the last couple of episodes. ☹️ 😞

They really should bring back 60 episode drams back so that they can stop rushing the endings. Or pull a Netflix and have part 1 and part 2 drama (which are actually necessary) 😒 looking at you Netflix.

Other than that Chen Yi always delivers. 😍

My roommate is so dirty. How do you go 2 whole weeks without cleaning the shower with grime forming and not feel like it’s dirty. We’d agreed on a shared weekly cleaning schedule that’s divided but then she just decides to not do her part. She has the audacity to tell me since I feel bothered by the dirt I should clean it myself as if she’s not using the bathroom. I’d don’t even wanna talk about how her loo so dirty thank god I have a separate loo.Don’t know what I was expecting from someone who occasionally takes a shower. And there’s a weird smell after she uses the shower and from her room. We’re all busy I don’t think taking an hour/week to clean is a lot of work.

I tried giving her grace and talking to her about it twice but she can’t be bothered and just has a nasty attitude. I’m already really stressed about school and other stuff I can’t be worrying this too.

Took a while to get used to the contact lenses in season 1 due to their… general vibes but eventually I warmed up to them and I honestly think their unsettling nature works magnificently in season 2, particularly with Armand. Assad can switch his expression from pliable and gentle to predatory and knowing SO wonderfully and the contacts add to that. This man drops his smile, stares out with his unnaturally big bright red eyes and you’re like “oh things are not ok in there and they’re about to get a lot worse out here.”

He is equal parts uncomfortable and beautiful and holy shit did they translate that wonderfully from the books.

A close second for me would probably be Santiago. He has such an unbelievably loud and distinct character design and the contrast of sharp pale colours (hair, skin, eyes) to saturated/dark colours (lips, under eyes, pupils, clothes) combined with Ben’s immense stage presence makes him an unforgettable force throughout the season. His contacts feel both very natural on him and very otherworldly.

Also every time their pupils look dilated (I can't recall if this is specifically through sfx or if their contacts allow for that) it makes me very feral. They either look like they're high off the blood they drank, like an animal in the midst of a hunt or like they're completely enraptured with whatever they're looking at. It gives off such a fascinating "beastly" look and really brings the (sometimes stiff) contacts to life.

((And yes I do miss fake Rashid’s big brown eyes but sacrifices must be made for the narrative I guess 😔))

I'm only 2 episodes in but I still have no idea what this show is about? Is it a fantasy show (is werewolf folklore involved) or just a thriller?

Given its only 6 episodes I don't know if I should continue watching or just leave it? I've checked but there's few if any posts on the show. And none really tell me what I should expect.

I might talk a break and watch something else. Its too much of a slow burn for me.
