living in japan was a culture shock, to say the least.

the beauty standards here were so different from h/c, japan’s idea of “thin” was nowhere near what i looked like.

my boyfriend, karma, said that he liked me no matter how i looked.

some days, my body image and weight would really get to me.

walking in the streets passing beautiful women with thin legs and arms made me feel upset, especially when i was with karma.

a slight sound of raindrops on the window catches your attention.

you look out to window, watching the brown colored leaves fall as a rainstorm starts.

mr. aizawa’s monotonous voice rings in the background as you pay attention to the outside weather.

“you know, maybe if you paid more attention to our teacher instead of the raindrops outside, you wouldn’t need so much tutoring after classes.”

beside you, sat bakugo. your lover, friend, and annoying classmate.

when school first started, you had no clue what the next few months held for you.

including a surprisingly loving, healthy relationship with an angry, blond-haired boy

“maybe if YOU paid more attention to our teacher then you wouldn’t have to worry about me not paying attention to him…hm?”

bakugo laughs, turning his head back to mr. aizawa.

you enjoyed having such a playful relationship, it made things very interesting.

shortly after school, you began your fall themed day.

as you arrive to the pumpkin patch, the weather clears up, and you’re left with dewy grass and a beautiful sunset in front of you.

“i’m glad the storm stopped, guess they didn’t need to cancel training after all.”

“guess not.” bakugo responds, opening the door on your side.

bakugo grabs your hand and leads you towards the entrance, ready to watch you enjoy yourself.

as you walk around the pumpkin patch, bakugo takes some off guard pictures of you.

the slight smell of vines and pumpkin fills your nose, with heat from the sunset warming your skin.

you smile, thanking the universe that you got sent such an intuitive boyfriend.

you two got your coffees, and soon made it home.

when you step inside your house, you both immediately change into comfier clothing.

after changing, you immediately preheat the oven, getting ready to make cinnamon rolls.

bakugo greases the pan and sets the cinnamon rolls neatly inside of it.

while baking, the sound of clairo’s “juna” lingers in the background.

after the cinnamon rolls start baking, you and bakugo sit in the living room, sipping on your coffees.

“did you have fun today?” he asks, setting his coffee on the table.

“of course i did. today was perfect, so thank you.”

you make your way to bakugo’s lap, starting an intimate makeout session.

i run over to her, jirou, and ochako.

“what is it, mina?” i ask, taking note of the suspicious look on each of their faces.

“so like, you and shinso? that’s a thing, right?” jirou asks.

“huh? what are you talking about?” i respond, wondering why they’re asking me this at the moment.

“well not to be nosy or anything, but we saw him carrying you into the ocean! straight up holding you!” mina exclaims loudly.

i notice a swirl of head turns from our classmates, giving us unwanted attention.

“mina! quiet!” i say, pulling her farther away from the others.

“look, shinso and i aren’t a thing. i like him, but i don’t think he feels the same way about me…” i say.

“what makes you think that? he’s waaay more touchy with you than he is anyone else.” mina responds, excitement lacing through her words.

i thought about what she said for a moment, and came to the realization that she’s right; he IS more touchy with me than he is with other people.

“does this mean he likes me though?” i ask mina, watching for any sign of shinso approaching.

“i mean, if it were anyone else’s situation, you’d for SURE claim that whoever’s acting like that likes the other person.” mina replies.

i turn and watch everyone else run in the sand and relax in the water, letting mina’s words settle in my mind.

“well, i’m gonna go enjoy the water. good luck, y/n.”

as i watch mina walk away, a tall figure enters my peripherals.

i turn and see shinso walking near me, a drink in his hand.

“i thought you might want a drink. juice?” he says.

i nod my head yes and take the juice from his hands.

shinso then lays his towel down, sitting down beside me.

“i can’t believe the sun is setting already, i swear we just got here.” i say, watching the sunset in front of us.

“i know, right. in ten minutes, everyone is gonna go inside, get a bite to eat.”

shinso then takes a sip of the drink he gave me, gazing into my eyes.

“i’m not ready to leave the beach yet, though. will you stay with me, y/n?”

“sure, shinso.” i reply.

over the next few minutes, we watch everyone pack up and go inside.

mina walks by us, shooting me a wink.

after everyone makes their way inside, shinso walks out to the water, slowly making his way deeper and deeper into the ocean.

“join me!” he yells.

i smile, running into the ocean.

i swim the rest of the way to where shinso it, not being able to touch the bottom anymore.

“it’s okay, i gotchu.” shinso says while picking up my body, holding me in the water.

i moved my body to float, so he put his arms under my back to support me.

as we’re enjoying our time in the ocean, i can’t help but notice how the light from the sunset is hitting shinso just right.

his dark purple eyes were now lightened, and the water droplets from his face and hair were glistening.

“what you thinking about, y/n?” he asks, moving one arm around my waist.

“shinso, why aren’t you this touchy with any of your other friends? and why’d you want me to stay outside with you?”

shinso moves my body, pulling me into his waist.

i wrap my legs around his lower torso, my arms finding their way around his neck.

i run my hands over my face, disappointment encapsulating me.

our transition into going to school with the northsiders hasn’t been…easy.

i practically begged the other serpents to be nice to our new classmates, but my pleas had no effect on them.

it didn’t help that the northsiders that i was trying to defend start shit constantly, with three brawls already happening in the first month of us being there.

“what happened? did something say someone about me?” i ask toni.

she looks to the side, taking a deep breath.

“reggie, and a bunch of other football players were saying that sweet pea has no chance with you, and that you’re way out of his league. atleast, that’s what fangs told me.” toni replies.

“god…that’s so…” i start.

“look, y/n, i know that you’re scared to confess your feelings to him, but he really needs you right now. he’s probably at home, because i can almost guarantee that he’s suspended.” she says.

after that, i make my way to sweet pea’s trailer.

anxiety was penetrating my entire body, i didn’t know how this next hour would go.

any time i hear that sweet pea got into a fight, i’m naturally scared to see what state i’ll find him in afterwards.

this time, i also know that i have to be honest with him, about how i feel towards him.

as i make my way up his steps, i knock on the door.

i hear loud footsteps come towards the door, being faced with a beaten-up sweet pea.

currently, bakugo and i were training in a match versus two students from class 1-B.

in this “game”, two students from class 1-A were selected to team up in an attempt to get two students from 1-B completely immobilized.

this specific type of training is…unpredictable, to say the least.

bakugo and i were currently trying to navigate our training grounds, cementoss made a small concrete town for us to train in.

downside to this was that the concrete town somewhat resembled that of a maze, twists and turns around every corner.

“i DO know my left from my right, bakugo. and for your information, i didn’t ask to be paired up with you.” i respond, annoyance lacing through my words.

we haven’t made much progress, and we still haven’t immobilized either of the 1-B students.

“well maybe if you actually listened to me and paid a bit more attention when we first started, then we wouldn’t be in this situation.” bakugo says.

during bakugo’s snarky comment, i powered up my quirk, using it to send him flying into the surrounding concrete surface.

this wasn’t the smartest idea, because we attracted the attention of our rivals.

“what the FUCK was that for?!” bakugo asks.

quickly, two figures enter our line of vision.

bakugo sends off two quick explosions, trying to distract them.

“hey, you okay?” he asks.

i turn to respond to him, but feel a sharp pain in my side.

one of my rivals had used one of the concrete pieces in an attempt to immobilize me.

“shit…” i mutter, running away from my opponent.

before all this had happened, bakugo and i briefly spoke about us splitting up in the maze if both of our opponents found us at the same time…which they did.

i quickly turn a corner, placing a hand on my side.

i’m not bleeding much, but the pain is almost unbearable.

as i’m assessing my injuries, one of my opponents finds me.

i quickly run, using my quirk to buy as much time as i can.

i smell an explosion above me, letting me know that bakugo is nearby.

“so were you just gonna be stubborn and fight until you’re completely immobilized or what?” he asks.

i hated how snarky bakugo was sometimes, but he was also so smart, and had a reason to be most of the time.

luckily, he already took down one of the students, leaving the rest to me.

quickly, i use my quirk and one of his explosions to finish off the last student.

i suddenly feel lightheaded, the intensity of the fight catching up to me.

before i knew it, i was out cold.

i wake up in the nurse’s office, with a pounding headache.

after i fully wake up, i see bakugo enter the office.

“the hell happened?” i ask, feeling the bandages on my body.

“well, you thought that you were invisible while we went up against 1-B’s students, therefore you ended up in the nurse’s office.” bakugo says, taking a seat beside of me.

“wait, so we lost against them?” i ask.

bakugo then turns to look at me, his eyes going from my bandages up to my eyes.

“fuck no. i’d never take a loss against those B-class idiots. i didn’t appreciate them hurting you, that’s all.”

“katsuki bakugo, are you saying that you…care about me?” i dramatically say, pretending to faint.

“of course i care about you, no need to be so dramatic about it.” bakugo responds.

i go silent for a moment, genuinely shocked that bakugo said something like this to me.

heat rushes to my face, feeling flushed.

my crush on him is stronger than ever at this moment.

“hello, earth to y/n?” he says, waving his hand in front of my face.

“you good?”

i look away from him, nodding my head yes.

bakugo then stand in my line of vision, making me look at him.
