Hi! I’ll give you a cool fact about lungs!
Your lungs have an enormous surface area (about 50 to 75 square meters (540 to 800 square feet)). That’s roughly the size of a small apartment or half a tennis court, all folded up inside your chest.
They can fit this much surface area because your lungs contain around 300 million tiny air sacs called alveoli. These microscopic sacs are where oxygen enters your blood and carbon dioxide leaves it. If you spread them all out flat, they’d cover an astonishing amount of space while still fitting comfortably inside your ribcage.
