My face may be permanently paralyzed, and it's depressing. I spent time in the mirror trying to smile, it's not the same anymore. I didn't think I'd care. But, the pictures everywhere in my apartment remind me of my old smile. The one my wife fell in love with. My kids will never see the smile that made their mother's heart melt. I wish it didn't bother me, my wife says it doesn't bother her. But somewhere it's not okay, it makes me feel sad and off.
Maybe I'll get lucky and it's not permanent, I really hope so.

Ive been in therapy since January, had about 12ish sessions and we just touched on issues and I didn't realize i had to explain that anybody asking me to do anything is an immediate no, why should I or why shouldn't I
Its so frustrating and it gets worse when you know what the issue or trigger is but not having a solution for it

I truly feel your pain, its definitely not talked about enough, or understood by a large majority of people. Its really taxing on us and those around us. Im sorry about your issues and frustrations, I hope that perhaps you are able to learn some helpful things to maybe help with daily interactions.

I am tired of idiots thinkings we, indigenous peoples of Turtle Island, are a monolith, that things can just go back to the way it was 400 years ago. 400 years ago our population was free, and made up the entire area. Having ODD is actually frustrating and people dont get it. You know what its like to argue, usually the same point. Ive seen people who dont believe ODD is a thing, but they have never dealt with it. I will argue with someone about the same point! But for some reason my brain NEEDS to challenge that person. Its not always authority figures people like me are "defiant" to. My wife has to word things a certain way when she wants me to do something because otherwise I get frustrated and wont do it.
If you dont believe ODD exists by the way you can fuck right off.

Yeah, I have noticed this, like you'll post seemingly random flames directed toward people your followers may not know. That seems to be a common ODD thing.
Its more arguing the point (even if its in agreement, I still don't quite see it that way), going off into a rant because I try to explain my experiences, if someone is trying to tell me what to do I get agitated, if someone tries to pull rank on a server that we share I get actually angry, if someone tries to pull rank, as in my problem is bigger than yours, theres a lot to it.
Its written out as being defiant against people with actual authority like police, teacher, parents, etc. Because usually the lesson is about diagnosis in children, and to a child nearly everyone is authority. But having it as an adult, and working with two children diagnosed with it during my social worker career. I am annoyed when people say it does not exist, its not a common disorder. Its also diagnosed world wide where social expectations and rules are different.
Living with it can be really awful, because its based on compulsory behaviours, I cannot stop myself. It is difficult for people to stick around, they dont like the constant arguments and corrections.
Nothing against you titan, its me explaining it a bit more. Its not always an explosion of emotion, or being in an emotionally charged state, or caused by traumatic issues with authority, or "no one likes authority lol".
When I see People who claim to be educated to go into the field, and shit on disorders they think are stupid. Im sure they will be super not jaded and successful... /sarcasm

As someone who has purchased many things from both eBay and etsy, and have sold on eBay and etsy before. Many items are unique and hand made, more sellers are resellers but you have to actually look for sellers who make their own things. I make my own jewellery, recently I started an "imitation sapphire", solitaire style setting ring. But do you want to pay what I want for it? Or do you want it at the same price as the mass produced items? Many people dont want to pay the true price for items, thats how big box stores got big. Many people don't know how hard working with precious stones, gems, metals of all types, how long it takes to make a piece, how long the tumbler processing is, even to buy the ring without a stone, and a prefacted gem it takes me at least an hour of labor to set the stone, use a tiny bit to file down each prong, polish it up, and thats one stone, premade setting, no carvings in the band, no personal engraving, no extra stones. Just a plain sterling silver ring with one stone, i add up my costs for raw product, my time, and the price is double the mass produced resellers price, which makes my price seem "obnoxious".
Mom and pop shops cost more, they have more overhead, thats how big box stores were able to wipe them out. People didn't want to pay $20 for an item that costs $9.99 at a big box store.
The problem isnt finding actual artists, it feels more like "sticker shock", not a lack of actual handmade items.

Yep. Hell, I know a fashion designer who has trouble keeping up with Pendleton. Again, Pendleton gets put in big box stores. And this is how it is for any business: Go big or go home. But mom and pop stores can't go big fast enough to compete.

Speaking of fast fashion specifically, people dont even realize every single company uses slave labor. The companies may not be seen directly involved, but they very much are. So many companies hire outside consultants to find the buildings, so things get muddy and the lack of transparency leaves people working without fair wages, safety regulations, breaks, sometimes they are locked inside the building, and so many other human rights issues our laws require. I found a list of 13 companies who still use child and slave laborers.
Many fashion brands are still using sweatshops today. Child labor and modern slavery cases are still being reported, particularly in develop
these are just 13 confirmed, I guarantee every other similar company does the same things.
People support slave labor, because the price tag looks good. Why do you think the price tag is so low, though? Critical thought is important when it comes to ethical shopping, its not just about location, its about exploitation of those who are in situations the western world seems to ignore. Where our eyes are blind so we can have our current live styles.
Without selling your soul now, you cannot really make it in fast fashion.

American law actually incentivizes hiring from China. Which of course favors the big companies.
FWIW, his brand, Eighth Generation, sets up shops on reservations. But that means hiring Americans and Canadians, which is more expensive.

Thats a good example of how a small business has more overhead, so his shoes have a heavier cost (to owner) than majority of others, leaving less room for profit, as they made min wage minimum.
You remember the time before all the car plants left places like Michigan and Ontario? Governments (Can) cut them a cheque to keep them here but the cash went to the plants overseas (thats why governments shouldnt cut cheques without any agreements or stipulations). We still pay the same price for those vehicles, but they have a bigger area of profit.

I am super protective of people I care about. If someone hurts someone I care about I get mad.

If you are being abused, by someone, doesnt matter who. Its okay to call the police to document the matter.
Its important you defend yourself, within reason, if they instigated the "event", they are guilty of assault, you are acting in self defense.
Take pictures and try to gather physical evidence this may help your case.
Try to get a peacebond/ restraining order on that person if they refuse to stay away.
You are a human being not a punching bag, not an outlet for someone else's rage. You deserve so much;love, trust, kindness, and most importantly, safety.
Physical, emotional, verbal, psychological, are all valid forms of abuse and assault.
If you are able stay at a safe place even a shelter.
Consider self defense classes (for all people).
If you can seek therapy and/someone who you can trust and talk things out to.
