Lurlinemas draws near and so I wanted to draw them in the snow. This was inspired by the snow scene in Yours Always by loniceravine

feeling slightly insane about how elphaba very clearly avoids doing any actual harm to glinda during the cat fight, almost every move she makes with her broom is to block glinda’s wand. she swings once and it’s one that—if it wasn’t blocked by glinda’s—would’ve missed. she’s simply letting glinda take her pent up anger out on her, elphaba’s own anger is practically gone once she’s slapped glinda.

even as glinda jumps on her, she takes it. she’s clearly able to avoid it as she displayed mere seconds before this but she lets it happen. she lets glinda pin her and i’d argue her attempts to get up were mostly superficial.

she loves glinda too much to do any real physical harm to her and she’s completely fine with letting glinda hurt her because she knows she needs it.

and when elphaba is fleeing from the monkeys after thank goodness, there’s a trail of blue flowers that leads to her hideout. in alaym, elphaba’s entire face reflects blue in the moonlight while fiyero’s does not. in for good, both elphaba and glinda have a blue hue over them from the moonlight. glinda’s dress throughout most of the movie shimmers between pinks and purples and blues, but crucially when she’s pushed into the pile of anti-witch propaganda, the dress looks entirely blue for the first time - and, not so coincidentally, glinda reaches her breaking point and goes after elphaba. in the finale, the sky is overcast but, surprise, it’s still blue for both of them - not to mention the dress elphaba is wearing in this scene is so dark it looks black but you can see from the thin veil it’s actually…blue.

Lmao Ari is really reminding me why I think the thropple can’t truly work. Glinda is going to need all of Elphaba’s attention 24/7. The moment the word “Fi-“ leaves Elphaba’s lips Glinda is already kissing her silly. Babygirl is too jealous, possessive, and crazy to share her Elphie. And who can blame her.
