☆ Loom was my reborn firbolg bard in an old D&D campaign. Clutching a scant handful of memories from her previous life, she took to the seas to find the creator who abandoned her. Sadly, the game itself was eventually abandoned. I miss her!

Calanthe Greylock - Defiant Optimist

Acquaintances would describe Calanthe as outgoing, playful, and trusting to a fault. As a Runechild Sorcerer, she lives at risk of discovery and exploitation. She is not blind to this reality, but rather than hardening her heart with suspicion, she would rather approach the world as a friend, cherish new experiences, and take the inevitable lumps as they come. A sunshine personality underpinned by a live fast, die young mentality. She has more or less outsourced her survival instinct to her twin, Taran.

Taran Greylock - Gothic Aesthete

Taran, the gloomy but caring twin to Calanthe, is a bard fascinated by the darkly beautiful aspects of life. He is loyal to the ones he holds dear, especially his sister, whom he has sworn to protect. His music is atmospheric-- best described as medieval darkwave. He generally plays things safe, but knows when to thrust himself into action when needed.

Today's post is a bit of a throwback. I drew Nico in 2021 but never posted him because I meant to draw another character from this story and post them together. 🙈 Well-p!

How about a game of snapdragon? 🔥🔥🔥

In this daring Regency game, nuts and raisins would be soaked in brandy and set alight. Players would test their courage by snatching a still-burning treat from the bright blue flames and popping it in their mouth.

It sounds a lot more dangerous than it is. The secret is in the blue flame-- brandy, being approximately 50% alcohol-- does not burn as hot. A regular, yellow flame would create twice the heat! Plus, the nuts and raisins cool quickly.

Liam & Daniel have played this before with their families. Adrian & Zach, however, are a little dubious.
