Seriously, there's nothing quite like trying to type the perfect proposal paper only to spend the remaining weeks nitpicking my entire body after my professor refused to tell me if my grade defining paper was on the right track... I wrote and supported six pages on my own thesis that I gathered from hours/days of research. Telling me either my paper needs improvement or was well written wouldn't have been considered "spoon feeding me," nor an indication that I needed to rewrite my entire proposal just because you felt egging on your students to dismiss confrontational counter arguments was an appropriate way to teach me to "stand my ground."
