But when he shakes Henry's hand, suddenly things change, and Alex realizes that maybe magic is real after all.

Halloween, Huh? Day 6 Reveals

These violent delights - Rated E - 14,110 words There's an empty corner near the back of the shop, and he tucks himself in. Perhaps he's waiting for his target to walk into the cafe — it wouldn't be the first time.

Suddenly, as though a hand has reached out and yanked on his hair, Henry's gaze is lifted and he knows it's who his Senses have been telling him to find. Sitting at the table across from Henry, sinfully long eyelashes lowered as he focuses on the pile of papers in front of him is the most devastatingly beautiful man Henry has ever seen.

It's such a shame he has to kill him.

Henry is a vampire hunter, with a very intriguing target.

No fear, no fences, nobody - no reins - Rated E - 8,474 words Henry takes Alex to a nearby farm outside Austin to teach him how to ride a horse. Eventually, they stop at a log cabin in the words for the night, and they decide to try another form of riding.

I don't know why all the trees change in the fall - Rated T - 2,513 words Alex has had a terrible day. It's raining, it's cold, and he's absolutely miserable. All he wants to do is dry off and collapse in bed. But when he walks through the door, Henry is ready and waiting to take care of him. He even has a surprise that he's cooking up in the kitchen. And Alex gets to take a trip down memory lane.

Cat or Canary - Rated T - 6,945 words Come in costume they said. It would be a fun party they said. Tell that to the fact that he is stranded with his arch nemesis, blindfolded, on the side of the road, shirtless, soaked in something he isn’t even sure what to name. Alex would think that would be enough for one evening, but Henry kissed him only moments ago and he isn’t sure if he is more mad at Henry, or himself for liking it. Halloween is about to be one wild night.

Handsome stranger - Rated T - 6,647 words Strangers to Lovers AU where Alex and Henry are strangers who accidentally win the couple costume competition at the party they go to on Halloween. How did strangers end up wearing the most coordinated, matching costumes? Call it faith *** Henry has to say something back, he knows he does. But his brain seems to have chosen this exact moment to go on vacation. All he has to say is a simple, "yes", how hard could that possibly be? The answer is very. When Henry clears his throat again, takes another deep breath, and gets ready to say yes, he's suddenly hit by the realization that he's been silent for much longer than could possibly be considered socially acceptable. Christ, I can't do this, he anxiously thinks to himself while still busy deciding on the least creepy way to break the silence and agree to the man's request for a drink. But then the man, who had been patiently waiting with a soft smile on his face scoffs and glares at Henry, mumbling something like "dick" and walking away looking offended and disappointed. It's then that Henry realizes to his own horror, that he'd said "Christ I can't do this", out loud.

Magical Mishap - Rated T - 2,658 words Alex and Henry belong to rival families of witches. They are constantly trying to one-up each other through their spells. When one of their spells has a less-than-desirable effect, Alex and Henry have to come together to rectify the situation before the rivalry between their families delves into an all-out war.

Invite Me In - Rated E - 2,960 words Henry arches an eyebrow at him. The little prosthetic fangs adhered to his canines bite into the pillow of his bottom lip when he smirks. And Alex’s heart pointedly does not stutter.

“Is this really doing something for you, love?” Henry’s voice has a taunting lilt when he says it, but his fingers on Alex’s hips dig in just a fraction tighter.

A scoff works out of Alex’s throat, and he rolls his eyes. “You wish.” —

Or, Henry dresses as a vampire for Halloween. Alex pretends it isn’t hot. Henry decides to bite him until Alex admits it is.

And Henry loved this too. The way the fire in Alex never quite went out, just smoldered down to embers. He didn’t think he’d ever quite get used to Alex’s wit, his sheer audacity to taunt and pick at him. But Henry was sure he never wanted to, anyway. He loved that that audacity snuck through the cracks of following orders, and waiting in positions. In between the begging, and Alex only ever finishing with permission dripping from Henry’s lips, it was still there. And Christ, if it wasn’t the single-most precious thing Henry had been gifted the honor of experiencing.

Freaky Friday (I woke up in my enemy's body) Rated M - 8,873 words “So he’s entered some weird-ass, stress-induced fever dream where he’s in Henry’s body. It’s probably, like, the latent guilt Alex feels for the repercussions this will have on his mom’s approval rating even though the whole thing is objectively stupid and people will forget about it in a week.”

He even had the costumes custom made for them. And maybe he requested for Henry’s jeans to be a little tighter than the original ones, whatever. He is allowed.

Halloween, Huh? Day 2 Reveals

Night Class - Rated E - 12,617 words Alex how found the simplest solution for all the facts he had been presented. There were plenty of them to make sense of. Alex was taking the path of least resistance, accepting that whatever remained after all was stripped away must be the truth. June could laugh at him for the rest of time if she wanted. He was right. He knew he was right. He had to be right because nothing else on earth or in the universe made sense.

Henry Fox — his smarmy, entitled, wealthy, bland, irritating neighbor — was a vampire.

Alex knew it. He could prove it.

Because I’m A Scoundrel - Rated E - 8,368 words Alex Claremont-Diaz has exactly thirty minutes to make himself look as slutty as possible for this Halloween Gala. At this very moment he looks a little bit like a sexed up pirate, but with the addition of his small black vest - rest in peace to the Patagonia packers and finance brethren- and a low slung belt with a “blaster,” a very sex-on-legs Han Solo is looking back at him.

Henry Fox, who is both a double scull rower with enough Olympic medals it would make anyone other than Alex sweat, and the definitive arch nemesis of Alex - is wearing a white sylvette Princess Leia costume, hugging his curves in all the right ways, the clingy fabric draping to the floor.

When you and your arch nemesis show up to the most important gala of the year in a couples costume you either play it up or shut it down. Alex has a decision to make, but the way that dress is hugging Henry’s ass isn’t making that decision any easier.

“If you’re friends,” Stuffing starts and Alex could swear his turkey voice is infused with sarcasm, “why were you pacing your room worried about whether you should call him or not?”

Red, orange, and yellow leaves cover thousands of acres of land, and the peeking of the sun over the distant horizon illuminates the hovering fog, creating the illusion of a persistent fire burning brightly without causing any damage. Instead, it paints a masterful landscape for an early morning riser to gaze at as he sips at a cup of Earl Grey and marvels at the fact that this beauty is a sight he has somehow been blessed to see.

He basks in the sound of familiar laughter echoing around their kitchen in the simmering warmth and comfortability that comes with being sucked into Pez’s antics and lulled back by Bea’s steadiness. He revels in the swirl of Nora’s genius and calm of June’s kindness.

It’s not quite the same as LA all those years ago. It doesn’t take him by surprise or feel novel anymore. But it's still that feeling of rightness, a crystal clear understanding that this, these people, will always be a kind of home to him.

To answer your question, if you want it to be part of the collection and need an extension, you need to come off anon and reach out. You can send an ask or DM one of the mods. If you want to post it separately in a few weeks, that's fine, but it will not be part of the collection. Let us know!

Good morning loyal subjects,

The time is almost upon us! It's time to stop skiving off and faffing about and hit "post" on your fanworks by 11:59 PM EDT tonight. A few things to keep in mind:

1. Saving your submitted work as a draft will not do the trick. You need to hit "post." We know it's scary, but we promise that as long as you've posted to the collection it will remain unrevealed.

2. If you've already submitted your work in draft form and now cannot locate it, just go to your stats page and you should be able to find it there.

3. If you do not think you'll be done by the deadline, please reach out ASAP to request an extension.

4. If you have been granted an extension, make sure you "post" your unfinished placeholder work before the deadline.

5. Works will begin posting on October 31 and will likely be released over the course of 5 days (could be more or less depending on the number of works submitted.

good afternoon, very diligent and gracious (and really cool for doing all of this) hosts, i would like to know, if i claim and fulfill two prompts, and they accidentally correlate to the point where they end up being set in the same universe, would it be possible to place it as a "series"?, would it be better to connect them via hyperlink?alternatively, would it be encouraged to not link it at all until the creators are revealed?

Well aren't you polite! What a delight! In answer to your question, by Royal Decree: "Works must be entirely stand-alone and cannot be set in a series or universe of a separate work." However, we can confirm that neither MI6 nor the CIA will be monitoring what you do after the fest is over and creators have been revealed...

I'm almost finished with my prompt but it's about 1500 words, hopefully that is okay? I'm worried I'm going to disappoint my promptee with the word count being low :(
