something i've thought about- characters like gortash, in the positions his ilk are usually in, they can't show fear, have to be strong in order to survive in those environments- stuff like that. but i'm sure that even if it's to a lesser degree and quieter than other things may be, they still feel those things. maybe they've just drilled it into themselves that failure isn't an option and it shuts that noise off, but what if something happened that caused that shut-off valve to fail? how would it all end up manifesting? i think that's something fun to play with

The other night husband and I were watching a documentary about the yeti where they were doing DNA analysis of samples of supposed yeti fur, and every one of them came back as bears.

Anyway, the next night we watched a thing about some pig man who is supposed to live in Vermont. People said it had claws and a pig nose but walked upright like a man. Now, I happen to know that sideshows used to shave bears and present them as pig men. So every piece of evidence they gave of this monster sounds to me like a bear with mange.

So now the running joke in our house is that everything is bears. Aliens? Bears. Loch Ness monster? Bear. Every cryptozoological mystery is just a very crafty bear.

Bears. They’re everywhere. Be wary. Anyone or anything could be a bear.

Dangerous ad going around on Tumblr ⚠️

For those who are unaware, there's been ads for a/i chat/bots going around on Tumblr. Specifically for "shapes.inc".

Obviously this is immediately worrying as chat/bots prey on low mental wellbeing, loneliness and someone's desire to interact, to then make them dependant and use their services more.

However, the ads themselves have stopped being quiet about that aspect. Here's one of the most worrying ads (aside the one that legitimately encourages users to make chat/bots of their friends' OCs without their consent, while also trying to claim that its "ethically sourced" - not telling us WHAT'S even sourced here - and therefore "guilt free".)

This is disgusting, plain and simple.

Not only is it directly preying on loneliness outright - it's encouraging a user to make a bot out of someone real without their consent. Not even a friend, no - a MUTUAL. It's encouraging parasocial dependency - just LOOK at what the "OP" is saying here: "RESPOND" "DID YOU DIE?" "PLEASE" "I MISS YOU".

It's not just encouraging parasocial behaviours nor just dependency overall, but encouraging users to breach the others' privacy just so they can pretend they're speaking to them.

Ads like this should not be allowed anywhere. Tumblr needs to get rid of it outright before someone gets hurt.

honestly if gortash played league of legends i feel like he'd be a support player. i was gonna say "oh, he'd definitely be a top or jungle main" but thinking about it i feel like he'd maybe play pyke. hold my hand for a second. follow me on this (i say, full knowing who this reaches might not understand any of this) league/blorbo rant below

i do see both arguments for jungle/top main vs support. support you have to rely on your adc (he "doesn't need" anyone else) so maybe it doesn't fit his MO as well, but hold on for this one. pyke is a really good engage support and can maintain control of an area using his mobility to get/clear vision. pyke can also roam around the map better than any support- he is a very independent, dominant support (that also has the capability to deal a lot of damage!!) so just because he's in the support role, it doesn't mean you're waiting for other people to make plays. YOU are the engage. of course he doesn't have the "hypercarry" potential jungle/top has (im not here to debate role strength in the current meta but i feel its more than sup) but no one notices the support until they become a problem. gortash IS egotistical enough to play a more "main character" role so i wouldn't say he'd only ever play support, but i think it'd definitely be a staple for him. support is a very tactical role that can also make plays and have a big impact while also being the role that no one would really expect that from. pyke in specific- if you're on the enemy team you're never safe from him because he could be anywhere at any time.

this is to say, YES he would never be in lane and letting his adc die because he's always roaming, YES he would be very toxic and if his adc wasn't playing the way he thinks they should he would end up with a 3-day chat ban after the game lets just say. i feel like he'd be diamond level. if he played mid he'd 1000% play katarina (or heimerdinger but katarina is unfair to play against if she's good/fed). top darius. jungle? not sure but when darius jungle was broken as shit he'd also have abused that.

If you had to learn what the F keys on your computer do through me reblogging this post, then I'm glad you did. Computer literacy is not a skill that gets taught anymore, and it is absolutely one that needs to be taught in order to be learned. Don't ever feel bad for not knowing something, but ☝️ don't ever stop learning learning about your environment, the tools you use, and especially the people around you
