It's just business | Lilah & Harmony
Harmony felt kind of stupid. She should know her name, she worked with her right? Her embarrassment was soon made greater.
“Yeah… I try not be such a klutz, but, the sun doesn’t really help me out.” Harmony said wiping her hair back. She stopped. “Did you say, that you could help me?” Harmony was the happiest she was in a long time when she heard those words, but she was a little weary. She knew what WRH was like, and she didn’t want any strings attached. She had filed some of the some of the paper work for Angel and she really didn’t feel like selling her legs.
But, the more she thought about it, the more amazing this could be. She could tan again! She would never have to get another spray tan and turn all her clothes orange. But still, she knew how Lilah was, and she also knew that no matter what, even if death occurred, if she signed the right contracts WRH could own her forever.
“So how are we doing this?” Harmony asked “It’s not like I can sell my soul.”
Lilah quirked a brow at the mention of selling her soul. “Honey, that’s been off the table for quite a long time now. Besides, you can only have so many souls before it grows to be a bother. What with the constant changing of currency." She gave a shrug, sliding a think packet of paper about four sheets thick down the bar to the blond. “For now, we don’t want anything from you. Crowley is interested in other matters for the time-being." She ran a hand through her long brown hair, watching the vampire expectantly. “Just flip through the contract and sign along the dotted line, I’ll walk you through the rest."
Her empty glass was swept away just then by an oh-so-eager bartender before a new one was in front of her. She busied herself with the drink while waiting for Harmony to sign. “Well.." She paused smiling at the vampire. “There is one condition. The slayer has a little sister, and if something terrible"-her tone dripped with feigned concern-" were to happen to the dear child, the slayer would have her hands full with trying to get her back. Giving us a bit of breathing room. Think you can help us in that matter?"
Harmony nodded and pretended that she had any idea of what the hell Lilah had just said.
She pulled the papers closer to her, flipping through lightly. Harmony had always wanted to sign a legally binding contract. It was like she was The Little Mermaid or something. She always practiced her signature when she should have been writing notes just in case something like his had ever happened.
Harmony looked back up at Lilah. “Well, it looks okay, I guess...” Harmony trailed off in realization that she actually had no idea what she was doing what so ever. But Lilah said she would help. Harmony clacked her tongue. She had been ignoring the fact she was very thirsty, even thought things tasted very differently now, she still needed a drink.
“Waiter!” Harmony called out to a man in white. “Screw driver. Please. Now.” Harmony's tone changed to a rather demanding one. The waiter brought over drink and just then harmony lifted it up and slammed it down. She closed her eyes shut tightly and shook her head. Not only was it very tart to begin with, but things tasted very differently.
The slayer? She meant Buffy right? Harmony only cringed at the feelings that the memories of kidnapping Dawn the first time had brought back.
Harmony stopped for a moment. “I'll do it.” Harmony said proudly as she signed the papers.
