The Little Girl in the Street || Open WOTNA
Harry started slightly as she was grabbed, hair whipping over her face as she was pulled out of the street only moments before certain death. Looking down at the tentacles, her eyes widened, hands shaking slightly as she stepped back slowly out of his grasp. “This…this isn’t real…” she mumbled more to herself than to the man who had just saved her life. “This is just another dream…someone else’s dream…not mine…” her muttering continued as her anxiety levels raised, staring at the man before her in fear. “I just want to wake up…I just want to wake up…”
Kam took a shaky breath as she stepped away from him. He quickly retracted his tentacles as he looked left and right, hoping no one saw him. “No, no, it’s actually very real.” he said as he heard her mumbling. “No, no dream, real life, lady. Come back to me, now, don’t lose it. You’re very much awake right now.”
Harry breathed laboriously, each exhale propelling the strands of hair that had fallen into her face forward. She bit her thumb to still the trembling of her hands, her big brown eyes trailing him as though he could vanish at any moment. “You...” she seemed to lose the trail of her words as she looked around in terror, utterly unsure if any of what she was seeing was real. “But you...you just...” customarily, signs of inexplicable phenomenon were clues Harry could use to decipher what was reality and what was fabrication. Metas made that a lot harder. “Are you...are you a metahuman?” she asked hesitantly; that could account for the strange sea creature appendages that had just pulled her out of the street.
