Mental Stuff: I am diagnosed with depression & anxiety, and I am currently going to therapy. After years of thought, I have self-diagnosed with ASD and OSDD-1b, an offshoot of DID. I'm currently trying to get an appointment with a specialist to determine whether I can be diagnosed with these things (among other suspicions), but I'm on a long waiting list. I also have my suspicions that I have symptoms of OCD, schizophrenia, dyscalculia, and ADHD. I sometimes regress due to stress, but that doesn't mean I can't handle myself during these moments.
Physical Stuff: I am diagnosed with CFS, but I'm of the unlucky percentage that does not benefit from exercise to help with it. I'm overdue for an optometrist appointment and am likely still (legally) blind. I've got a lazy eye and astigmatism. I wear glasses, but I wish I didn't have to. I currently am on HRT.
Spiritual Stuff: I identify as a maned-wolf therian, though I'm unsure of the specific terminology. I am an atheist and actively distrust all religions.

What is up with all of the TikTokās saying, āi used to be a therian, it was fun. Yeah I grew up. it was a cool phaseā¦etc.ā as someone who feels this is deeply woven into my identity, I donāt understand how people could say itās just a phase if they felt it was part of their identity. As a trans person i understand dysphoria and treating it, but Iāve never seen someone wake up and just be like, ābeing trans was cool, glad I grew up.ā What the hell does that even mean? It seems to me like so many people use it as a fad but in reality it is something deeply tied to someoneās identity, to who they are.
For clarification, I understand that identity is truly impermanent, as someone who identifies with Santana Dharma (Hinduism.) BUT, people are using this as a trend and itās annoying. Massive difference between evolving and being trendy. Thatās all.

This might be a hot take, but I thought what they did for the "monster" of the Backrooms was ABSOLUTELY GENIUS! How it organically builds upon how the Backrooms work, how it connects to the real world and its people (specifically Clark), and how it creates something that is dangerous and terrifying, and yet at the same time, frighteningly human!
Let me ask you something. Do you think it's interesting that out of all the "people" that were in the Backrooms, Clark's was the only one that was actually dangerous and was actually going around killing people? That's because the Backrooms remembers things in the real world, and "the more times it remembers, the less it does" until it only remembers the details that stand out the most, like how, when you remember a childhood bedroom, you only remember specific furniture or decorations. And the same goes for people!
Because Clark's life is dominated by his anxieties, frustration, fears, and, most importantly, his desire to lash out at everything he thinks is to blame, the Backrooms only remembered those negative feelings. And eventually they all culminated into this dangerous entity. Just like how he lashed out and attacked others that he believes are the fault of where he is, this entity of his own (unintentional) making lashes out and attacks everyone in sight, because, as you can see by the expression on its face, it too is driven by those same anxieties and fears!
That's what makes this my favourite Backrooms entity! Because it's not just another murderous fiend that kills for the heck of it. It's something that beautifully and brilliantly connects to the world it's a part of, AND MOST IMPORTANTLY THE PEOPLE IN THE WORLD, and helps make Clark one of the best horror movie "villains" in recent memory!

Also if Tumblr staff genuinely cared about queer people they wouldnāt be increasing shadowban rates on trans people.
The 2022 New York City Commission on Human Rights Discrimination Settlement didnāt magically make staff supportive of queer rights, they only backed off long enough to get attention off of them before coming back in a new way.
Unless we keep putting pressure on Tumblr staff about this, you will be next on their ban list.
I owe my life to the trans woman on tumblr who told me how to get DIY HRT when I was 15. Even though I didn't act on it for a year, just having the knowledge was the most power I'd had in a long time. I'm not sure I'd have survived without it.
Of course, this is entirely the point of this reactionary shift.

The UK is banning people under 16 from sver social media sites, including Instagram, TikTok, and YouTube. While I certainly agree that the modern internet causes a lot of health and development problems in young children, this ban is not about protection, it is about control.
The internet represents one of the few ways young people can escape the totalizing power their parents have over them. That these apps have been crafted to control their attention does not mean children should be banned from them, it means they should actually be regulated. If the internet is like "junk food" in their analogy, then the government needs to make the food safe to eat, not ban children from eating them.
Of course, British Prime Minister Kid Starver doesn't really care about protecting kids. His policy on Gaza is evidence enough for that. The real point of the law is to provide the state with the means necessary to control the internet and monitor citizens' activity on it. Children are the targets not because they are the only group which the internet is negatively affecting, but because they are the softest target.
My egg cracked because of a YouTube video. I was still a minor at the time, but it was instrumental in helping me realize that, and was instrumental in saving my life as a result. My love of history, of strategy games, of science and politics, all can be directly traced back to or was facilitated by YouTube. In many ways it was a better parent to us than our actual parents were, something which speaks both to the postive impact it has had on our life, and to the ways the nuclear family failed us.
I would not be here if the US had implemented the ban the UK is planning to. I would be dead. If the UK actually wanted to protect children, that might matter to them.
