I remember years ago, long enough ago that I was still using either Tiktok or Instagram regularly, because that's where I saw this, long enough ago that unfortunately I do not remember the username, I saw an older trans woman responding to a comment asking "how come we see trans women from your generation, but never trans men?" And her response was simple. "Unfortunately, it's because most of them are dead." Between lack of safe and legal abortions (which, hey, look what's an issue again), the HIV/AIDs crisis (which still is lacking in approved treatments for trans men, and they're still likely to be denied PrEP/PEP even when they should be eligible as sexually active queer men), and how many of them chose to take their own lives after being forced into marriages and other women's roles, a lot of the trans men that should be elderly right now did not make it.

And now, when I find myself making the mistake of going on Instagram, I get to see trans men themselves talking about how historically, trans men didn't do anything for the community, and so we need to step up now. Which, first of all, that isn't true, but second of all, if trans men's contributions are lesser, that makes a lot of sense if we listen to that trans woman talking about the trans men she was in community with back in the day. It's very hard to advance the trans cause if you're not alive.

Anyway. It's a really chilling answer. "Where are all the elderly trans men?" "They're dead." And I just wish more people saw that tiktok and listened to it and really took it to heart, now that we're in the age of "well obviously trans men have it so much easier."

i think one of the things that i havent seen people talk about a lot is this scene

while you could definitely chalk it up to abstraction and Jax's mind being pulled apart i think its definitely more plurality related and Jax is plural

first off, these splits of Jax all have an air of familiarity around each other, they address each other and they all have their alter functions pretty laid out

additionally, maid jax says "how did you get in here" implying that this place has always existed on some level because none of them are particularly startled by Pomni's appearance

maid Jax is Jax's repression of his identity while also serving as a protector (she remains "uncaring" and "ironic" to deflect painful emotions and protect her system)

toon Jax is his need to be the "funny guy" and social alter, he comes around when things are tense and he needs to make a joke to maintain his character type

big eyed Jax fits into either the persecutor or symptom holder role, though he could also be both, hes shown to be the only one angry towards piano Jax (maid jax is exasperated while toon jax doesn't care) knowing what happened with Jax's parents id hazard that he could be a reflection of his father but in terms of being a persecutor we've seen multiple instances where Jax has slipped into this self destructive attitude; pushing people away, causing fights, negative behavior towards himself and others and its always shown with his pupils blown wide

ill be so honest with you, I couldnt initially place piano Jax in any specific role, he acts reminiscent of evil Jax but aside from that we dont see Jax acting like this a lot. but then i started thinking, hes shackled to the piano and initially I thought it was symbolism for being frontstuck but I actually think that its the opposite

when we're first introduced to evil jax hes shy, wants everyone to have a good time, and Jax's first reaction is this

now that we've seen piano Jax my theory is that he was the main host until everything that happened with his mom, this a more vulnerable part that probably was the one that kickstarted everything but because the other splits see him as weak and annoying they keep him locked up in headspace hence why hes chained to the piano AND the reason he would have the key to the room next to him

now onto this scene

first off; the fact that one thump makes all three splits mad and piano Jax stop playing is very telling that theres an established presence of these splits prior to abstraction

theyre aware of whoever's behind that door to the point theyve actively suppressed it for quite some time, the way they tell it to shut up and then go back to their poker game shows that its a reoccurring thing between them

but who is behind that door?

well, considering that its heavily borded up in an almost desprate way so no one can go in or out my theory is that its a trauma holder

everytime we see Jax break down he has very specific tells; his eyes get scribbly, he gets tunnel vision, he speaks low and to himself and none of these splits are shown to act like that even piano Jax

but yknow who we see standing next to a red light having flashbacks? the Jax from the next room, this guy

i think hes the Jax they've blocked out, the one who holds all the memories of his real world counterpart trauma and his circus trauma

tldr; i think this scene shows that not only is Jax plural but also the depth of his trauma and repression

I think we should talk about how Erwin would have snapped and went ballistic insane if Levi had died before him

Cause I'm absolutely convinced, even besides shipping interpretation, that he wouldnt have been able to handle it. It's showed time and time again that Erwin 100% relies on Levi and that Levi keeps him grounded, keeps his morals (more or less) intact, keeps him humane.

People think Erwin is cold-blooded? You have seen nothing if you haven't seen Erwin having lost Levi.

(in my opinion) one of the saddest Saiki K scenes

(maybe not the "saddest" or really that sad at all, but it makes me ache every time I rewatch it)

I go on a pretty long tangent here, and I don't really have an appropriate place in the middle to put a cut, so below the cut is my little rant on Episode 189 of TDLOSK, "Love Score Showdown" and why it makes my heart hurt so much.

In episode 189 of TDLOSK, "Love Score Showdown," Kusuo's parents are having an argument over who loves the other more. To settle this, they use Kusuo's "Love meter" power to gauge who loves the other more, but they keep finding themselves in a tie.

To settle this, Kurumi (his mom) says that "If you love someone, you should love your child with them just as much", and that they should compare their love scores with how much each of them like Kusuo.

Kuniharu (his dad) IMMEDIATELY backs down and runs away. Does not even try. Which in my opinion is already sad itself.

However, Kurumi has already activated the device for her love for Kusuo. The score ends up the same as her love for Kuniharu.

Saiki sees this, and is confused. His eyebrows soften just slightly at the possibility of what it could mean. Of what it probably does mean. But he immediately dismisses it with "The device is broken."

Now I know all I basically did was create a long summary, but I need you to understand how actually gut wrenching this scene is to me.

His parents love eachother a lot. His dad IMMEDIATELY gives up when it's time to show his love for Kusuo. And you can see Kusuo's slightly negative (disappointed/sad??) expression after. And when the love score from his mom is scanned as just as high as her love score for his dad, he looks at it with confusion. His eyebrows raise and eyes soften for just a minute in realization to what it could mean, but he immediately concludes that the device must be broken.

And one could say that he says "the device must be broken" because he's a tsundere or whatever, that he doesn't like being affectionate or seeming like he enjoys the affection he gets or however you wanna describe a tsundere, but I personally disagree.

Throughout the series there are many quotes and scenes that overall just hint that Kusuo doesn't really have great self esteem. Not to mention the fact that we already know how much Kuuske alienates Kusuo and literally doesn't see him as human. In the beginning of the series, Kusuo doesn't even describe or see himself as human.

And throughout the series, there's development that he starts to believe and admit that he's human too, but that's not my point in this post.

My point is that I think he's been so alienated and has felt different and maybe even lonely, that he genuinely doesn't think that his own mother could love him that much.

I feel like there's so much more I could say but the words just won't come out, but such is the life of a neurodivergent guy... But I just need you guys to understand how actually gut wrenching this scene is. Even if you don't feel the same way about the scene I at least need you guys to understand why I feel this way. Please.
