Skipping this section because I do not think these three would get married, for many, many reasons, one of which being Hal's general commitment issues, and another of which being that it's. illegal.

Who is the one to instigate things? - I would say Hal at least half the time and then second most is Ollie.

How healthy is their sex life? - Barely touch themselves let alone each other | 2 | 3 | 4 | Once a couple weeks, nothing overboard | 6 | 7 | 8 | 9 | They are humping each other on the couch right now (Unfortunately with how busy they all are, they’re probably only meeting up once every couple of weeks. But when they ARE together it’s a sex marathon u pickin up what i’m puttin down)

How long do they normally last? - Barry with his speedster’s biology could probably last for endless orgasms. If it’s trans ftm Hal, he could also probably go for hours, but if it’s cis man Hal, he’s out like a light after like two or three rounds. Ollie is in peak condition but he’s also simultaneously a middle aged man, so maybe a a handful of rounds, too.

Do they make sure each person gets an equal amount of orgasms? - no. re: speedster’s biology and whoever is trans.

How rough are they in bed? - Softer than a butterfly on the back of a bunny | 2 | 3 | 4 | The bed’s shaking and squeaking every time | 6 | 7 | 8 | 9 | Their dirty talk is so vulgar it’d make Dwayne Johnson blush. Also, the wall’s so weak it could collapse the next time they do it. (Almost gave them the highest level, then thought about it and I do think they would be out-leveled by certain couples. But I do think they’d get pretty rough sometimes.)

How much cuddling/snuggling do they do? - No touching after sex | 2 | 3 | 4 | A little spooning at night, or on the couch, but not in public | 6 | 7 | 8 | 9 | They snuggle and kiss more often than a teen couple on their fifth date to a pillow factory. (I think between all of them Hal’s the most physically affectionate, but I think they’re all about the same levels of physical affectionateness.)

How many children will they have naturally? - none. Unless some supervillain decides to three-way clone them or something. (But I suppose that would be stretching the definition of “naturally” 😅 )

How many children will they adopt? - Wally and Roy are basically already Hal’s children, too, so: literally every kid in the flashfam AND arrowfam AND possibly also the kids that have been popping up in the lanternfam recently

Who gets stuck with the most diapers? - Barry but because he can do it faster than light (or Hal because he can do it with a construct, although I don’t think he actually would, I think he’d make himself do it by hand)

Who is the stricter parent? - Ollie fs. He literally wouldn’t let Mia become a superhero until she was legally an adult—whereas Barry has no such qualms afaik (and tbf Ollie did let Roy be Speedy much younger than Mia got to be Speedy) and Hal is more inclined to encourage such behavior.

Who stops the kid(s) from doing dangerous stunts after school? - Ollie.

Who remembers to pack the lunch(es)? - not Barry, maybe not Hal, maybe Ollie?

Who is more likely to attend the PTA meetings? - mmmmm…Barry. But he’d also be late. Oh maybe Ollie, actually.

I want to know about the superlantern arranged marriage AU 👀 and thank you for the tag!!

TYSM for askig!! I realized that I actually have talked about this AU idea way too much for having…not actually explained the premise?

It came about bc I noticed a little while back that there are tons of Superbat arranged marriage AUs, which don’t get me wrong I’ve enjoyed a lot of them, but like…you kinda have to do a little bit of mental gymnastics in order to reason why Bruce Wayne, a random non-noble non-govt leader American billionaire, would be the person that Earth sends to an arranged marriage with an alien prince. I thought to myself, an arranged marriage AU with Superlantern as the main ship would probably make way more sense just from the premise, and then I also proceeded to do a whole ton of mental gymnastics to make that work!

So here's the basic premise:

This is a "Krypton lives" AU where despite the high council of Krypton still doesn't believe Jor-El about their overmining leading to the core of the planet becoming unstable, Jor-El manages to save Krypton anyway! He has won the hearts of the people and the hostility of pretty much all the members of the high class. Yay?

But now, even though Jor-El saved them from imminent disaster like 20-ish years before the story starts, there's still a ton of environmental disasters (mostly earthquakes, like in For The Man Who Has Everything, which was one of my inspirations for this AU) and economic issues that result from the overmining and the long centuries of isolationism and stagnation, so there's been a growing social progressive movement on Krypton to open up their economy.

For that, right before the story starts, Krypton has been having negotiations with the Green Lantern Corps to become annexed, or at least trade partners (think, like, trying to enter the World Trade Organization and get Most Favored Nations status but also the WTO protects you from space pirates and slave ships, ykyk). Really, they've been negotiating with sector partners Tomar-Re and Hal Jordan, who protect the same sector in this universe (Krypton has historically canonically been in the next sector over from Earth, but it just makes more sense for this AU if they are just. in the same one.)

However, this Krypton used to be close allies with Mars before they entered their isolationist period (long story), and while they generally respect the Corps members themselves (like most of the universe(, they are very distrustful of the Guardians. Krypton knows that the Guardians planted that debilitating fear of fire into Martians, to basically make sure they wouldn't, like, conquer and dominate the rest of the universe, and the people of Krypton understandably doesn't want that to happen to themselves.

Thus: the arranged marriage. The high council of Krypton wants a Green Lantern to 1) marry one of their own and 2) have a child born of that marriage to so that Krypton functionally has "hostages" against the Green Lantern to ensure that the GL has an incentive to protect Krypton against the Guardians doing something like what they did to Mars. Meanwhile, Hal agrees to this because no one in the Green Lantern Corps wants another rise of the Kryptonian Empire, and if there's anything Hal is loyal to above all else, it's his duty to the Corps. (plus, the whole thing with Sinestro turning out to be a dictator just went down, and while Hal himself is innocent, he is advised by a certain Guardian that he should lay low for a little while until the heat from the rest of the Guardians and the Corps cools down.)

Meanwhile (x2), Clark was actually forced into this arranged marriage. He's a part of the noble class, yes, but he's not a prince nor part of the negotiations in any capacity, and he's not even a Guild member (which is considered highly scandalous considering that he's not only a noble but a member of a High House). The High Council forced Clark specifically into this marriage for, like, a lot of complicated, overlapping reasons, the main one being this: pretty much everyone in high society kinda hates Clark, not only because his father is the "Savior of Krypton" who proved the High Council wrong, but also because of Clark's own merits (yay!). Here, Clark is a journalist for a low-key blasphemous newspaper and an outspoken member of the progressive movement, and he basically represents everything that is fundamentally against what Krypton's ruling class wants, except he's so close to home that they can't ignore him.

The reason why the High Council chose Clark to be the one in the arranged marriage, instead of any of their own, is because he is part of the progressive movement and therefore was one of the people who wanted Krypton's economy to be opened up but he also is a very convenient scapegoat if the arranged marriage / trade deals go poorly.

For Clark's own part, he's very aware that this is what's happening, and he doesn't try to fight the arranged marriage. He does want Krypton to be annexed into the Corps, and he's hoping to use his marriage to the Green Lantern to further his own interests (I mean that in the least self-serving way possible).

However, the High Council forced Clark into that arranged marriage through some old laws from, like, manorialistic Kryptonian Empire. Although it's become a social institution that nobles can't just make peasants to marry anymore, it's never actually been put down into the law books, so they can actually legally do that. However, Clark and Hal's marriage becomes the "straw that broke the camel's back" with all the social tensions on Krypton because if the High Council can just legally eschew institutions not to dictate commoners' lives in terms of marriage, they can also legally eschew a lot of other things about commoners.

So like... yay class war <3

27. What do you listen to while writing?

I listen to nothing <3 the silence <3 the only sounds my thoughts and the neighbor’s dog barking <3

I used to listen to music while writing (one memorable year I got Annapantsu’s All-Star cover as my number one song because I listened to it on repeat while working on a single original work) but now I can’t do that anymore… I need to focus ykyk

28. Favorite work you wrote this year?

This question I had to think really hard abt bc I wrote most of my collective works this year and truly I like a lot of them equally. It might be between Hot and Cold and Chasing Ghosts for DC, and then Highly Inappropriate Crushes: The Dread of Morrigan Crow for non-DC fics. At least, those were def the ones I went back and reread the most.

2. Do you prefer oneshots or longfics?

Definitley oneshots tbh!! Altho most of the time when I write longfics, it’s just because I can’t help that my ideas in execution become hella convoluted 😅

20. What made you start writing?

When I was in second grade, my classmate wrote a book to show and tell, and I copied him n wrote my own book to show and tell the next day, and found that I really liked writing. I’ve been writing ever since then!

Actually, that was when I started writing original works. For most of my writing life, I was only writing original stuff, with only two exceptions: in like fifth/sixth grade when I wrote some Sanders Sides fanfiction and right now. For the longest time, I swore off fanfiction because I really struggled to “hear” the characters’ voices when they weren’t my own characters, but I figured it out for a couple DC guys and the rest is history <3

36. Are/were you surprised by your top fic? (hits, kudos, comments, anything)

I’m not surprised that HJTGWMSCT is one of my top fics across the board, it’s one of my older (albeit ongoing) DC fics, and I would even say my most high quality writing maybe ever? Which is lowkey crazy to say? I am surprised however that Do I Look Like Him is one of my top fics also because I honestly feel like out of all my fics, it’s the lowest quality. I wrote it in a 4-day Thanksgiving break crazed session, and to me, it shows. On the other hand, I kinda stole a semi-popular, very self-indulgent trope (the “de-aging for angst and secret reveals” shebang), so maybe I shouldn’t be surprised by the appeal it can have to a niche audience? shrug!!

10. What work was the quickest to write?

Probably a prompt fill, I can usually get them done fairly quickly, so something like Hot or Fleeting. Covalent needs a mention though as the fastest I have ever written a 10k+ fic, it was sitting as just the first paragraph for about a week and then I wrote like 8k in 2 days and I do not know how I did that, but my current theory is thinking about dragons is good for your brain

29. Favourite line/passage you wrote this year?

Also a very tricky question (mostly because it involves me trying to remember specific stuff I wrote), but this part of The Ghost of S.T.A.R. Labs has to be up there:

Barry trailed off, his eyes transfixed by Cisco’s hand, watching as he traced his own along it, watching as Cisco kept loose enough Barry could gently move Cisco’s fingers with his own, turn his hand over in both of his.

He stared, in awe, as he ran his hand up Cisco’s arm, up to rest his hand on Cisco’s shoulder. He pushed a little, experimentally, against Cisco, moving him back.

Barry fumbled next to him, searching for anything else to try, lacing his fingers in Cisco’s to hold tight and never let go.

Talk shop Tuesday: are there characters you haven't written yet but would like to? Has there ever been a character you wanted to write but didn't feel like you understood enough to do so, and if yes, how did you get over that (if you did)? Thanks!!

I'd like to write some more (comics) fic featuring the Rogues, I've got some little bits I've had fun writing and writing more with them- especially more Silver Age inspired- fic sounds really fun, I just haven't had any ideas yet.

I tend to get nervous over comic characters a lot- there's just so many comics I couldn't possibly ever read all of them, yet I often get this irrational fear me not reading a character's minor appearance in an out of print limited run published before I was born is going to mean I've misinterpreted the entire character and the whole fic will fall apart when someone notices. One character I did put off writing for a while was Hal, I have read a few Green Lantern comics but those were library books, I don't have them to hand to reference, I've read a few Justice League books, but predominantly I read Flash so my knowledge of Hal mostly comes from there. I do own The Brave and the Bold and JLA Year One, reading those helped get a little more feel for him but I do still get nervous. Constantly, about pretty much everything I write, so I don't know if getting over it is exactly the way I see it, it's more I know I have anxiety, I know that while it is so much better than it used to be there is a huge amount that make me nervous, and if I didn't do something because I was afraid, I'd never do anything. I have been like that, trying to hide from the entire world because I was so afraid of it, and I don't want to live like that any more. There are still some big things in life I am putting off in part through fear, some nerves over writing a character seem like nothing next to them, I can deal with some nerves.

And I wouldn't expect anyone to have read every single comic ever before writing fic, I would expect everyone to have their own slight differences in characterisations of every character, if it's not a standard I would hold anyone else to, it's also unfair for it to be the standard I hold myself to, therefore I should lower my expectations for myself. Fic writing is just a hobby, it doesn't have to be perfect or what would be the point of writing the next thing, and the vast majority of people are really nice. Maybe there's one or two judgemental people but I use a walking stick for pain and fatigue, I'm not exactly a stranger to judgemental people, sometimes you just have to try and learn to live with it without it bothering you constantly. If people decide to be mean it's a statement on who they are as a person, not on you

And practise helps you get over it too. The more you write a character you're nervous about writing, the more familiar they start to feel, and the easier it gets.
