Kaitlin pressed her lips into a thin line. That wasn’t even a lie. She knew that when they had first started working together that Ben had asked the Captain multiple times to be assigned a new spotter. He’d made it very clear that he wasn’t happy being partnered with her. She was sure that wasn’t the case anymore, he certainly didn’t act like he disliked being paired with her anymore. And he’d apologized for things multiple times. But… he’d never actually said that he wanted to work with her.

“Yeah, I know he has,” she shrugged, shoulders tight. “And, yes, I can handle him and if our COs put us together for that reason, because it gets the job done better, then that’s fine with me. It doesn’t really matter what either of us wants, because we’re here to do a job.”

General Opinion: This is one of those things that just ended up happening and was awesome. I love when characters just have that chemistry and these two did. They have a lot of common interests and Kaitlin is a really strong woman in a lot of ways and I think those two things can keep them going for longer than most of Dean’s short lived romances. Still kind of dying to know how they hit it off when they finally get together haha.

Let You Go

The Task Force had been hunting for Wolf on and off for months now. It wasn’t their primary mission; that was still Makarov, but when they got a good enough lead a small team would be sent to look for Ben. So far all the trails had run cold before they could get close to him. They had quickly heard that he was in the States and had been for a while. Word said he was travelling with someone, but it was hard to know since bodies and stolen money were the only evidence left behind. And criminals were loath to talk if it could get them in trouble.

Kaitlin didn't go to the bars with her coworkers and friends for the drinks, a couple was about the extent of her drinking, but she did enjoy sitting back and watching everyone else's antics and getting in the occasional dance. Plus there was always a chance she'd be able to flirt with someone; friend or stranger.

Tonight she'd noticed a guy discreetly checking her out; tall, broad shoulders, and absolutely gorgeous. He hadn't approached her yet, which Kaitlin thought was interesting. From what she could tell it looked like he was possibly too shy to, which was ridiculously cute, so Kaitlin decided she was going to take things into her own hands.

She excused herself and headed over to the table the guy was sitting at. "Hi," she said, giving him a friendly smile. "Mind if I join you?"
