          As if he would easily just listen to the other and go back to bed. No, that           was not Wesley at all for it always him who makes the order, over Barton,           of course, even if they were more personal now, it was hard for him to listen           to Clint when he asked something of him. He would rather it be Clint listening           to what he has to say, which it happened as he knew it would, the other man           giving into him being there.

         When he gave in, Wesley took the first aid kit, picking a few things out that he          knew he would need, a few cotton balls and—he had to pause what he was          getting, his eyes glancing to Clint trying to situate himself in a position without          hurting himself Wesley’s hands letting go of the supplies he had grabbed instead          resting on the archer’s shoulder to help him slide down. There was so many things          he could say right then, but he preoccupied himself with the supplies once again,          moving to sit beside Clint on the cool, tiled floor placing the first aid box on the side          of the bathtub where it was easy to reach. 

        “ Don’t apologize. ”

         That was the only words he could mumble out as he doused one of the cotton balls          with medicine to lessen the chance of the injury to get infected. James really wished          he could say more, but could not whether it be because of the concentration he had          or the fact he woke up when Clint came back and Wesley was not one to be reckoned          with right when he woke up with lack of coffee in his system. But they’ve been through          this exact scene many other times and it always seemed to play out somewhat the          same so at this moment, there was not even a need to warn him that it would sting          when the damp ball touched his skin. James dabbed it against the wound until the white          fur was not turned to a red tint. 

        “ If we are going to–be like this { in a relationship as this one }              then that means, that I am willing and wish to take care of you              { probably read that in a book somewhere }. ”

He rather the other turn back around and go back to bed. Hell there was a part of the marksman that silently prayed for him to give him a displeased look and that would be the ending of their midnight meeting in the bathroom. But neither of those things happened, instead James approached him, slowly closing the distance between them. 

Hands falling into his lap, Clint gave up his fight to get the other to go back to bed. He knew better at this point. After all, James was the one who gave the orders; never take them of all things. Eyes staying with the other male, he watched him as he pulled out a cotton ball from the kit and soon after applying a hefty amount of medicine. Trying his best not to wince at the cool sting of the ball, Clint made a slight face of disproval. 

                                      “ ——..I didn’t mean to wake you up.”

Taking his time to tug off his now stained tie, he tried his best to concentrate on James rather than the sting the medicine was bringing to his wound. He was right, they were in a relationship now. Not just a professional one, but one of love as well. Fingers playing with the tie that was once around his neck, Clint’s brows came together.

                                            “ You need your sleep though, James.” 

He worried, he worried about the other all the time. hell it was his job to worry about James and his safety. But now look, it was James who was tending to him, treating his wounds in the middle of the night as if this were some daily task that needed to be done. A weak laugh soon followed his words before finally looking at his partner.                   “ I understand. Just... that doesn’t mean I still can’t try to get you back in bed.                  So I suppose this means I’ll be making this up to you later on this morning?”

calloused hands quickly working at what he’d call a few ‘minor’ injuries, the marksman stopped as soon as the other’s words were picked up by his hearing aids. shaking his head, clint was quick to brush the offer of help.

despite his words and all other fleeting feelings, clint knew better than to test james. letting out a deep sigh, he shoved the first aid kit over towards him. it took the man a moment to hobble over to sit by the edge of the bathtub, but sure enough he managed to get himself there safely. the hardest part however was yet to come. slowly lowering himself down to the ground, clint held a hand to his side.
