As the autumn colors fade and the snow starts to fall, I feel myself already reminiscing for crisp air, the smell of leaves burning and fall foliage. Although the two seasons in Phoenix are great, fall has always been missed by me. Cleveland did a great job of making up for lost time by showcasing a beautiful season with brisk, but not freezing, temperatures. The Rocky River Reservation, a part of the Cleveland Metro Park system, is a perfect place to take in fall with trails that weave through forests and are surrounded by cliffs. Plus, watching the river cut through the valley adds a new level of serenity. We visited a few times and brought Yukon, the pup. Dogs are allowed in the parks as long as they are on a leash. (We've been told that some people take their dogs off leash, but that's with the chance of a ticket.) Besides being forced to pose for pictures, Yukon throughly enjoyed smelling everything and pretending to be a hunting dog. With more than 3.8 acres, there's more than enough land to hike, run, walk, bike and simply enjoy the outdoors. We'll be coming back to see what it looks like blanketed in fresh snow. I may be a little sad saying goodbye to the glow of fall, but winter means lots of soup and chili so it can't be too shabby. Until next year autumn...
