We're the Taken Under the Wings system and due to some issues with our old tumblr acc we've decided to move.

The following is the intro of our old acc

Hi! Hello! Hola! My name is Alex (he/they). I'm the host and "representative" for the Taken Under the Wing system. We're bodily NOT a minor (18), and we speak both Spanish and English.

We have been on a journey to get a diagnosis of DID for about three years, and we have ADHD diagnosed. In terms of physical aspects, we have chronic pain, and this stems from scoliosis fixed surgically. All of this may be present in our posts.

In this blog, you will find system related posts and fandom ones. Since we're too lazy to make separte blogs.

being physically disabled already takes over a large part of my life, I don't have extra space to think about my sexuality, my mental health, or all of the microlabels I left behind and kinda miss

sure, I have voids in my memory, but calling them switches is such a commitment

sure, I hear other people in my head, but that's just me being silly

I'm already taking pills on the daily, thinking too hard about my mental state is just another painkiller down my throat.

I think some people that are using the term polymind to describe their experiences should research OSDD, especially OSDD-1a

"Someone with OSDD-1a may have a work self, a family self, a 5 year old self, and an angry self in addition to several parts that hold trauma memories."

What some people are describing is very similar. I'm not diagnosing anyone, and even less trying to group polymind and CDD together, but sometimes people get too focused on the distinct alters of DID and forget OSDD and that is the reason at least we can't support polymind to the extent of system-like bc is disrespectful to OSDD-1a systems.

clearing some things up bc apparently people don't read DNI lists anymore

• We are very anti endo/non-traumagenic, DID/OSDD forms exclusively by repetitive trauma, you maybe don't remember it, but it's still there. If you claim to be a system that didn't form from trauma, then DNI

• We are pro fictionkin, since they never claim to be systems (and it would be stupid to be anti, since we have fictives in our system, and although they're separate experiences, they are both conected to fiction, so why not support both)

• We don't support people using the term polymind to just be endo without the consequences. If you use it without diminishing systems, go ahead.

This may be a hot take but i think "polymind" people need to take a step back. Because from what ive seen being "polymind" is literally just being a normal human being.

Plurality outside of DID is real but its normally associated with CLOSED religious practices. Which is stated in the dsm-v to be a completely separate experience.

You only think polyminds are harmful bc what we do would be harmful for YOU. If YOU as a SYSTEM tried to “separate yourself” by naming sub-personalities that would be bad(which btw is literally what y’all do already) but for singlets it’s not bad for us. Polyminds don’t separate ourselves by naming our little code switches, it causes no harm to our mind or functioning, you only think it does bc that’s how it would affect YOU.

There’s literally nothing harmful about having a silly little name that I call my “work self” it doesn’t affect my life at all, it’s just something I do to cope with the stress of my job. Systems scream that they wanna be left alone while simultaneously shoving themselves into shit that is literally none of your business. DID and OSDD is a completely different ballpark than whatever the fuck polyminds have going on. Subpersonalities and alters are not comparable and your ignorance is baffling. Alters are formed due to intense trauma spanning years in early childhood. Alters are all parts of a whole that were never given the chance to integrate into one identity due to dissociation and instability during your development.

Now. Subpersonalities by definition are "distinct, relatively independent patterns of behavior, thoughts, feelings, and motivations that a person experiences as different "selves" within their overall personality."

Emphasis on OVERALL PERSONALITY! you are one person who experiences different thoughts, feelings, behavior etc based on your surroundings. You are simply reacting to your environment as a complex human being with the capacity to interact with the people and places around you.

Why the fuck do you need a name for a experience experienced by every person ever?

Also, you dont get to decide what is or isnt acceptable for systems to be upset or frustrated by. You aren't a system and yet you think that systems standing up for themselves isnt needed.

Systems don't owe you anything. We dont owe you patience when you disrespect us.

Sincerely if you think that your voice is more important than the minority your speaking over than you are the problem. DID and OSDD systems involve themselves with things like this because it DOES affect us. And we have every right to correct your misinformation.

"Polymind" bullshit will and has already been associated with DID systems because of the rhetoric you're pushing having so many baffling similarities. It will be used to further invalidate people who are systems.

humans always act differently depending on the context. You don't act as comfortable in class as when you're with family, even alters change their way of being around others (without chaing their core identity ofc)
