please be aware that the palestinian BDS national committee has an official list of companies you are currently encouraged to boycott, and it is not the same as what is included in this graphic. while this post is partially correct in encouraging targeted vs untargeted boycotts (see the second image below for why this is important), it is also vital that everybody is on the same page as to what specifically is being targeted

as of october 23rd 2023 (the date the above graphics were tweeted) and october 30th 2023 (the official website) the companies that BDS is specifically targeting are:

Siemens

Ahava

Sodastream

as the graphic indicates the BDS movement supports & encourages the additional boycotts of dominos, mcdonalds, papa john's, pizza hut, and burger king. disney and starbucks are not explicitly mentioned by their official channels at the present time. if consumers choose to boycott these companies as well it should be in addition to & not instead of the companies on the official list

as a general rule, please avoid sharing boycott lists & graphics that do not come directly from the BDS movement themselves or which do not reflect the list currently on their website. circulating incomplete or inaccurate lists, even when they're as small as the above, is just as confusing and misleading to the consumer as those massive 60-brand long lists

terfs keep mentioning the % of autistics who are trans/nb and that we're 'brainwashed'

and because i'm an asshole, i decided to look into why so many autistic folks are trans/nb. it's not an inaccurate statement, at least the first half, but terfs lie through their teeth so i decided to get to the scientific root of it.

the answer blew my fucking mind.

the study on gender and autism i found said two very specific things about autistic people: we are more mentally resistant to things like social conditioning and binarism. we like our secret third things, y'know.

an excerpt:

“The finding that non-binary identities are most elevated seems to support hypotheses focussed on autistic resistance to social conditioning, which are consistent with existing evidence of the same effect with respect to self-description of sexual orientation. Perhaps elevated rates of trans identity in autism might result from a rejection of the binary cisgenderist norm, which combined with a below-typical concern for social norms could promote the disclosure of the identity.”

94% of autistics surveyed for that paper identified themselves as non-binary.

other studies have found autistic people have higher levels of critical thinking, and require more evidence to maintain or convert to a belief system (hence why many of us eventually fall away from religion) than allistic people.

which means, at least from my perspective, that:

a) the 'brainwashing' terfs are accusing the trans community of inflicting on autistic folks would likely not even work if they tried.

b) the current binary definition of gender flies directly against embedded autistic modes of thinking to begin with.

you cannot brainwash someone into thinking something they already believe.

This essentially suggests that autistic people are likely to be NB because we are in fact resistant to the relevant brainwashing.

Been a while since I made an art. Been a rough few years on the ole creative juices. BUT I got a new computer, and downloaded firealpaca and I dicked around for a bit and spit out some "official" art of this dude I've been kicking around for a bit.

So here is... a boy. Shade is technically a villain but he wasn't always (and he may not always be). He was once a hero! He has a super power (super strength basically) and a mutation called Vampire (which is horribly misnamed because he's more like a fruit bat biology-wise). He wasn't super popular back in his hero days what with being noctural and preferring to work on his own. Now, of course, almost 20 years and a series of personal traumas later, he's pretty jaded and spends most of his time tripping up and stealing from the agency he once worked for (and also.... romancing one of their golden children, a healer hero with a bit of a bite named Seraphim). He may come back around from his thieving and quiet mayhem if those in power that are corrupt get knocked down. For now though, this is just a snapshot of his past, not his present.

My first DnD character, a 6'8" Tabaxi bard named Tricking Treat! He is a diva, extremely gay and a little dumb. His instrument of choice is the Hurdy Gurdy and his grandma is an Orc named Zhoog. So far, all of his magic items are for the Aesthetic, including his hair pomade of 10,000 styles which allows him to Stay Cute even in the darkest of caves.

Had a little bit to doodle so worked on this guy, Harlan Brink, my incredibly large (6′10″) and chilled out wolfman mob boss. His mob crushes other mobs/gangs/drug lords/human trafficking rings and takes their money and other shit (and frees and helps anyone in need of it) and then uses that capital to build an ever expanding underground network for displaced supernatural (and human) folks. 

He can’t change back from being a wolfman due to suffering a nearly fatal amount of damage during his first transformation. He was able to heal, at the cost of returning to humanity when the moon set. On full moons, he becomes aggressive and tends to knock himself out with a large amount of sedative and sleeps it off. 

Collects music boxes (his “dainties”), smokes cigars endlessly, really wants everyone to get along, incredibly laid back, half his underlings call him some variation of “Dad”. And that’s what he is. He is Dad. Everyone’s dad. He’s also your dad congratulations you now have a dogfather and he says to do your homework and eat your vegetables.

The FCC wants to destroy net neutrality and give big cable companies control over what we see and do online. If they get their way, they’ll allow widespread throttling, blocking, censorship, and extra fees. On July 12th, the Internet will come together to stop them.

Morgrim, a dragon-turned-man-turned-back-into-a-dragon-eventually. He is (prince?) consort to the steadfast Queen Alana, and father to her son, Prince Algrim (who are both @woodsypuca’s). 

Morgrim is an interesting character because his physical description has never stayed very consistent and it’s only recently that I’ve been pretty solid on how he presents himself (being that how he appears as a human is a construct of his own magic most of the time). I’m finally pretty happy with how he looks face-wise. I’ll get around to the rest of him eventually.

A really rushed test doodle of an old character, Chessian. Mostly just playing with human facial structure and some makeup/jewelry ideas and getting his hair how I wanted it.

Piddling around with Ichabod’s hair. 1st is canon hair, tweaked to where I actually like it. 2nd is what would happen if he let Baxter cut his hair. 3rd is permtastic. Might do some more of these who knows...
