thinking about the visions lighting up on the statue as the soldiers are running during the kazuha vs shogun cutscene, and the whole "though you alone are here they too have ambitions which they long since entrusted to you" moment mmh yesss something very one for all was happening at the end of the inazuma chapter that I absolutely adored
hot take don't come at me but Izuku could never have saved Tomura's life. Tomura could never have accepted surviving with half of his friends dead. Even if all the members of the league had survived, he never could have given up on their dream. Tomura is a leader, and even with his hatred gone, he was still fighting for their ideals. He said himself he had to be their hero. Izuku saved Tenko's heart but he never could have saved his life because his whole purpose was to fight for the league's dream and the only reason he was able to go with a smile was because he was dying. Because as he explained in his message to Spinner he kept going until the end. Tomura could never be reformed because he could never have lived with himself knowing he gave up while his team was out there risking it all. Like try to imagine it for a sec, Tomura surviving the war. What next? "yeah sure thanks for saving me now I'm just gonna go to jail and wait for you to make the world a better place haha oh the league they'll get used to it don't worry". Tomura absolutely trusts Izuku to change things, but this is not just about him. He's too loyal, too honest. And I'm not saying it's right that he was killed or that killing him was the necessary thing to do, I'm just saying, from Tomura's point of view, surviving the war would have sucked big time. He would not have survived surviving.
another heartbreaking thing is that i don't think izuku will ever realize that either
ughh I'll always be crying about tomura because what happened to my boy is NOT FAIR.
