mike.

was he upset? yes, he was!  was it immature of him to ignore and avoid dorian?  of course!  was his heart broken?  without a doubt in his mind!  did he have a right especially since they weren’t together?  no, he didn’t but it still hurt.  how was he supposed to feel when he was going to confess his feelings only to be greeted by a woman standing there in a towel.  mike made up a lie before excusing himself. since then, he stayed clear of him.  it was so bad that mike didn’t acknowledge his existence.  so when they got into the same elevator, mike stared at the ground like it was the most interesting thing in the world. if he had, the male would have noticed dorian trapping them.  ❛  why did you—  ❜  sister?  did he hear that correctly?  maybe he was hearing what he wanted to. his hand coming to move the other’s away.  ❛  please move out of the way so we can try to get this thing moving again.  ❜ 

at first he thought that he was getting the same signals from mike that he was putting out there as well.  dorian thought that they were flirting with each other and building up to a date or maybe even something more.  all of that went to shit the last couple of weeks and he didn’t know where he went wrong.  ❛  mike so help me god if you try to get this elevator moving again.  i’m not against pinning you against the wall. ❜  dorian stood right in front of the panel with all of the buttons.  he made sure that the emergency stop was still pressed before giving mike his full attention.  ❛  what happened with you?  last i hear my sister tells me you’re looking for me and then you treat me like the plague.  i think i deserve some answers.  ❜  clearly, he wasn’t the type to allow people to ghost him or move on without a simple explanation.

gabriel.

Gabriel was completely hypnotized by the man’s alluring voice. He slowly moved towards the end of the dock. “I… I can…” The man was practiced enough as a witch to know when his mind was being toyed with, but that didn’t make it any easier to fight back. He brought a hand up, placing it on top of the other’s claw. “I want you. You don’t gotta… My mind is hazy.” He leaned in closer and kissed the man. “What are you?” He asked the words with a soft hum, tilting his head slightly as he tried to get past whatever the man was doing to him, wanting to see the siren for what he was.

With the confirmation that he was wanted, Dorian slowly dropped most of the hold that he had on the witch. His voice wasn’t a beacon anymore, it wasn’t magnifying what the siren wanted. “If you insist.” He pulled the man closer by holding onto his neck, deepening the kiss for as long as he could. When the siren pulled away to breathe, there was a smile forming on his face. “A siren, in the water I have quite a few forms now.” The benefit of having been a merman. “One resembles more of an octopus while the other more of a shark.” The gills on his neck were exposed as the charm dropped and so were the scales on his arms. “Do you think you can handle me?”

cecilia.

Looking up at Dorian, she gives him a soft, shy look as he pushes her hair out of her face. Having no idea that anyone knew of who or what she was, she was surprised when he approached her at her in public. Now in the confines of his home, she was more than happy to escape her family and the denial of her origins. “No, never. Not even a hum.” His suggestion to have her on a stage one day, singing with him, makes her blush. “We would lure them… on purpose? Do we hurt them…?”

A deep sigh managed to escape Dorian’s lips as he moved his hand down. He held her chin up and pressed his thumb to her bottom lip. “Well this has a lot of power behind it if you ever choose to use it.” He was glad that he was not only on land again, but that he was aware of the rumors flying around of a hidden half siren. “Yes. We could lure them for whatever we want. If you want revenge on an ex we can torture him on the docks, kill him. Or simply make them do whatever it is we want them to do. Our powers are endless when it comes to the mind.”

ezra.

Ezra had always been told that sirens were nothing but beautiful creatures that sang people to their deaths. He had never given it much thought until he met Dorian. Dorian differed from any siren he had ever met. He was passionate and alive, and he made him feel things never felt before. Slowly but surely, Dorian began to change his perception of sirens. He saw them as creatures of beauty and wonder, not of death and destruction.

Did they send you here? Is this some twisted way to get back at us for the last attack? Dorian’s words snap Ezra out of his reverie.

“I do not speak or spy, for my father. The less I know, the better. I just wanted to enjoy the music. Honestly.” Ezra responds easily, trying to keep the lighthearted tone that Dorian had once brought into the conversation.

Hearing the fact that Ezra wasn’t much like his father started to soothe the siren. He didn’t want any trouble, especially when his band of sirens depended on him for protection. That was why he’d do anything to make sure threats didn’t reach them. Dorian sat more comfortably on the stool, letting Ezra’s words ease his worries. He let out a soft sight and then took another sip of his drink. 

“If you say so then I’m going to go out on a limb and believe you.“ He scooted closer to the other, trying to go back to how they were. “If you pull anything, I’ll react quickly.“ 

Dorian asked for another round of drinks from the bartender. “You know we’re not supposed to get along, right? If they see us together they’d probably lose it.” That brought a bigger smile onto the siren’s face though, pissing the elders off was always fun.

     A SOFT MELODY ECHOES THROUGHOUT THE ABANDONED SHIP. decades ago the oversized boat crashed into rocks and cave. legend has it that something in the water tore apart every single sailor except for one, so they could tell the tale of the carnivorous monster. dorian went back to relish in his own destruction. the siren ran the tips of his fingers over claw marks on the wall while singing an enchanting song. 

     eventually, his head turned when he was made aware of the fact that he wasn’t alone. the soft smile was still plastered on his face, almost as if he was innocent of all of his bloodshed. ❝ my apologies if i’m in your way. i was half expecting descendants of the sailors would be here so i could see the destruction span ages. ❞ the crisp air felt let home. if dorian focused well enough, he could still hear the screams. ❝ were you just passing by or were you looking for a wild spirit? ❞

     A HAND LAZILY RAN THROUGH THE GORGON’S HAIR, CAREFULLY. dorian carefully moved so that pierre’s head was comfortably on his chest, but he could still lean forward and kiss it. ❝ they should have never treated you like a monster. ❞ his voice was surprisingly soft. the siren knew what it was like to be ostracized. he was a merman before, technically, and the second he was twisted into a monster they kicked him out. ❝ you don’t have to hide who you are from me. you can fully be yourself and i’ll just support you even more. ❞ dorian moved his free hand to run up and down pierre’s arm. ❝ plus, everyone knows i’m not a saint among the ranks. i’m here for you if you need someone. ❞

     BEING WITH OTHER SIRENS WAS ALWAYS LIBERATING. dorian practically downed the last of his drink so they could leave. ❝ come on, the perk of being out by the dock is that we can jump into the water whenever we want. ❞ then a dark smirk formed on his face as he grabbed a hold of alesandro’s hand. ❝ i’ll even let you pick out our meal this time. honestly, the fact that they get both of us at the same time is more charitable than anything else. ❞ now really since they were still offing people together, but they needed to eat in order to survive. plus, who was going to stop them?

     ❝ COME ON, DON’T YOU WANT TO BE A GOOD BOY FOR ME? ❞ the siren’s claw moved up until it was wrapped around the man’s neck. the whole time while he was talking, his voice sounded sweet, almost velvety. yet he was practically revealing just how much of a monster he was. ❝ come into the water with me. i’ll show you a real good time and just how powerful i am in it. ❞ he moved his claw down to hook on the neckline of gabriel’s shirt. if allowed, dorian started to move them further out into the dock. ❝ my other form can even be pleasing for you. plus, so many people can catch us right now and there are tons of boats if you want to be more vanilla. ❞ it was clear he was hungry and gabe was the one he wanted.

     THEIR CONNECTION WAS COMPLEX AT BEST. dorian knew that they were pitted against each other time after time. hell, they still were on certain occasions. yet, moments like these they were actually cordial. ❝ you know tomorrow i’m probably going to be hunting you down for going after my next meal. ❞ he chuckled softly, thinking about how he had tried to snag katerina’s blood bags several times. ❝ for now, i’ll say cheers to us not killing each other yet. ❞ he slid a glass of what seemed to be wine across the table (it had a treat in there mixed for her). ❝ that reminds me, have you ever drank from another creature before? cause if you’re going to hunt down a wolf i need to be there to get to them first. ❞ a cocky smile spread across his lips, oh how he loved to loathe her.

     THERE WAS A SLOW CLAP COMING FROM THE SIREN AS THE VOCALIST GOT OFF THE STAGE. he had been lurking around the club that last couple of days to see the other bands perform. dorian didn’t think anyone would hold a candle to a band of sirens, but he was clearly mistaken. ❝ you were really good up there, all of you. ❞ he even bowed his head a bit as a show of respect. ❝ from vocalist to vocalist, i was impressed. ❞ he extended a hand out. ❝ dorian belgrave if you don’t already know. ❞

     GIG NIGHTS WERE ALWAYS FUN. dorian got to perform with other sirens and lure people in while letting go of himself. he had spent a majority of the night with the same man, flirting up a storm and getting drink after drink. the sirens had gone back to the docks already, taking care of their next meal, but he was too entranced for the time being. then the lights in the club went on as they were getting ready to close. his eyes went wide as he almost shot up from his stool. ❝ you’re one of them. ❞ of course he’d end up flirting with the enemy. ❝ did they send you here? is this some twisted way to get back at us for the last attack? ❞

     AFTER WHAT FELT LIKE WEEKS, THEY WERE FINALLY ALONE. dorian didn’t want to take any chances with mike this time. he moved so that he was standing between his neighbor and the elevator door. then he moved his left hand over to press the emergency stop button. ❝ can you even look at me anymore? ❞ the siren’s brows pushed up as he moved his right hand up to mike’s chin. ❝ ever since my sister told me you stopped by, you’ve been acting like i ran over your foot with a tractor. ❞ that didn’t make sense, but dorian didn’t really care. ❝ what’s wrong? ❞

     HE SHOULD HAVE HIS OWN WARNING LABEL. the siren didn’t know where he went wrong, but he knew there was no point in trying to figure out. that was why he brought trent in, hoping the phone would be fixed right away. ❝ i promise you i didn’t do anything this time! ❞ that’s a lie. he mistook the words water resistant for water proof. ❝ it’s been glitchy for a while though and i really don’t want to bother getting a new number. ❞ he also didn’t know a person could just transfer their number. dorian sighed softly and handed trent his phone. ❝ please, if you find a solution i’ll do anything. free concert, pay above market value, or tend to anything else you need. ❞

     IF ANYONE KNEW WHAT IT WAS LIKE TO BE HIDDEN, IT WAS DORIAN. sure, he grew up in a beautiful pod and was well known, but after he twisted into a siren he was basically barred. he had heard of cecilia’s origins and was glad to have finally tracked her down. the siren had a mischievous grin on his face as he tucked part of her hair behind her ear. ❝ i know this is a lot to deal with, but what we can do together is truly breathtaking. ❞ his voice was lower than normal and his eyes never left her. ❝ did she ever let you sing? i’m a part of this band and i’d love to have you up on stage with me one of these days. the people we would lure together would be record breaking. ❞

     THE FLIER WAS CRUMPLED, BUT HE HOPED THAT DIDN’T MATTER. dorian had been looking for aki for a better part of the day. he figured he’d need to get a cellphone eventually, but it was just going to get wet anyway. after handing the flier to the other, he placed his right hand on his hip and let out a soft sigh of relief. ❝ that’s the gig i was telling you about the other day. you can bring your friends too if you want. ❞ finally, his charming smile was forming on his face. ❝ if i spot you in the crowd i’ll make sure to sing directly to you. ❞
