hard to swallow pills dot jpg. the reason people don’t like when you infodump about your uwu favorite things isn’t because they don’t like hearing about deep sea ecosystems or anime blorbos or whatever it may be. it’s because talking /at/ someone is selfish. have you asked the other person any questions? do you care what they have to say? would you willingly listen to them infodump the same way or would you (be honest) stand there and wait for your turn to talk? people not responding well to your tedtalk on the thing you like isn’t because they’re normies who hate ‘nerd stuff’, it’s because you have substituted conversation for verbal masturbation. hope this helps
Examples of how to hold healthy conversation and not do “verbal masturabation” as op so kindly put it:
“do you already know about [thing you’re interested in?” This helps show shared interest in something so you know you aren’t alone in your enjoyment.
take pauses. “Did that make sense?” “Are you following?” “Am I talking too much?” Don’t be afraid to asses if they want a turn to talk too!
Ask if they have a similar interest. For example they may not be interested in deep sea creatures but maybe they do like sharks. Maybe they don’t like project Hail Mary but they did watch the Martian. A simple check to make sure you know you aren’t better than everyone for have a “niche” interest!!
Info dump responsibly and make sure the open the conversation with “can I infodump” if you have no intention of stopping anytime soon!!
or just don’t
hot tip for everyone who’s reblogged saying stuff like this: if you ask a human being to their face “can i ramble?” “am i talking too much?” “am i being boring?” etc they WILL lie to you. because they’re being considerate. please return the favor.

Guys I literally hate to be the one preaching exercise I wish I could be all #itsfine and #itsoktobesedentary but how on earth does physical exercise literally improve everything in life
Exercise boosts BDNF which strengths neural pathways so you think more clearly, focus better and regulate your emotions. It burns off stress hormones pulling you out of survival mode and helping you make calmer, wiser decisions. Your mood rises thanks to dopamine, serotonin and endorphins. It also reshapes your identity into someone disciplined and capable, which then influences your habits, boundaries etc. You get more energy from better sleep, hormones and metabolism and as you become more grounded and self aware, you naturally attract people who match that level
Being sedentary ages your brain. BDNF decreases, your neural pathways weaken. Your memory dulls, your focus shrinks, your stress tolerance lowers and your mood become unstable. Movement literally keeps your brain youthful and sharp. Even a daily walk slows cognitive aging and boosts the chemicals that protect your mind
Stay active :)

Why do fandom people always say "war crimes" even though most of the time they're talking about regular crimes committed during peacetime
