We can talk forever about the scene after silver lake, with baby girl, and blood, and shock, and solidarity. We could talk about that forever, and we should. But I don’t think we have talked enough abut what I found to be one of the shows most compelling scenes. In KC, as Ellie is swerving between the legs of infected and militants alike, nothing touches her. Joel doesn't let anything touch her. he is entirely laser focused on her survival and he is also so very scared for her. Ellie is bold in this scene, because she always is, she is an incredibly brave person, but she is also bolstered by Joel's protection of her. She sees he wont let her be hurt, he simply wont allow it to happen. Amazingly tense, beautifully shot, excellently acted. I fucking loved this scene, have not stopped thinking about it.
just wonderful
In Critical Film Studies S2E18 of Community as Abed describes his constructed Chad life, he says Chad’s first love was his best friend. I’m just saying... arguable... so was Abed’s.
Magnitude is canonically 16 years old. What the fuck. My day has been made.
Ummm... so there are quite a few posts that talk about how the argument that there weren’t (many) gay people in the 80′s is stupid because so much of the show is made up, and yeah that’s true, and I chuckle when I see it so no hate. But like. It’s not like there are more gay people now, like even in the real 80′s there were gay people, even out gay people, so the argument is irrelevant even without this point and whenever I see it I’m just like wait, are you agreeing that in the real 80′s there weren’t gay people. I know that the posters aren't saying that so seriously 100% not trying to slander at all. Just yeah, gay people have always been around, demogorgons or not.
Okay I’m not going to lie and say the previous seasons weren’t gay, cause they totally were. But never to this level. Season 4 has reached an astronomical level of very gay/low key queer baiting. The amount of ships that will never come to fruition has like quadrupled, maybe more. But whatever, we can pretend they will happen, in our dreams. My main point... SO gay.
I am (canonically) sleep deprived.
I’ve heard it said but I’ll say it again. Whoever dubbed this season is 100% following the gay agenda. An overwhelmingly ideal amount of “emotional synth music” folks, overwhelming I say.
Taking a VERY gay scene and then making one of the characters mention heterosexual attraction, does not, in fact, get rid of all of that queer coding. It is stilll very gay and I will stand by that forever. Thankyou and goodbye.
I’m sorry... but Nick and Charlie’s ship name should be Chick. No hate to anyone who uses a different one... you’re just, you know, wrong. I mean, its just sooo cute.
I could talk about how in the umbrella scene, the yellow is above Charlie’s head, and then after they kiss and Nick turns around he spins the umbrella and its over his head, for literally ever. But I...guess I won’t?
Wtf happened to Rue not paying Laurie back and being like, sold into a trafficking ring. Cause, I mean I can believe it hasn’t happened yet but you’d think it would be like, on her mind... at the very fucking least.
One thing I loved about the season finale, not really much of a spoiler, is that girl in the audience who was like asking about “Tyler” switching girlfriends and stuff, to her it was just a play. I was so glad it was in there and thought it was so funny to finally get the recognition that the characters of the show aren’t like known by everyone. They are only main characters to themselves and us and I thought that was just a really fun nod, plus a little meta.
Anyway, bye!!
Technically true.
