Thanks for the tag, @willowworkswithwords!! Yes, sadly my computer fell into a coma earlier today and passed to the Great Beyond this evening, leaving me without my primary source of writing. Major kudos to the people who write on their phone because I don’t know how you do it. But I still have my drafts, so here we go!

Of course, he really should have known something was going to go wrong regardless, because this was General Kenobi and things always seemed to go wrong around him, but the man had assured him that everything would be fine, and who was he to argue with his general?

From these caretaker dialogue prompts: 4. "Oh god... What did they do to you?"

Cody should have known something was going to go wrong as soon as the locals spirited General Kenobi away for some sort of ceremony.

Of course, he really should have known something was going to go wrong regardless, because this was General Kenobi and things always seemed to go wrong around him, but the man had assured him that everything would be fine, and who was he to argue with his general?

Cody did, on occasion, find it quite funny when his general got into trouble with the local inhabitants of whatever planet they'd found themselves on. How could it not be amusing when he was dyed orange to match his hair, or forced to participate in a ceremonial dance that involved walking exclusively on his hands?

This was not one of those times. This was not amusing at all.

When the woman who'd led General Kenobi away returned without him, alarm bells started ringing in Cody's head, but he kept his calm.

"Where is General Kenobi?"

"He is deep in communion with The Other," the woman, Leader Yanji, answered. "Not to be disturbed."

"Might we be able to see him?" Cody forced himself to remain even-toned. He was having one of his general's bad feelings, but he couldn't let Leader Yanji become suspicious. "We would like to commune with The Other too." He gestured to Waxer and Gregor beside him, who dutifully looked earnest and eager.

Leader Yanji burst into laughter. "You? You, who are not real people?" She looked amused. "No, you could not hope to commune with The Other."

Cody tamped down on the flare of anger-hurt that arose from that. It was not the first time he'd heard anti-clone sentiments and certainly would not be the last.

"Could we at least try?" he pressed. "We... aspire to be as good as you."

Leader Yanji mulled that over, then nodded her agreement. "Fine. It couldn't do any harm. You will find General Kenobi down that path." She pointed into the forest she'd emerged from.

"Thank you," Cody said, bowing as his general always did. With a quick hand signal, Gregor and Waxer were following him into the trees.

It was dark and cold and silent but for the slight wind rustling the trees and the soft thump of armored footsteps as they walked. Cody's apprehension grew as they went further and further down the trail.

Soon they saw a light up ahead, beckoning in the distance. Cody picked up the pace. It was still eerily silent as they approached, but Cody didn't let that disturb him. His general could be meditating, or something.

His general was not meditating. His general was hanging from his wrists in the center of a clearing, half naked and bleeding from over a dozen wounds.

"General!" Cody cried, rushing towards him.

General Kenobi lifted his head groggily, and Cody could now see there was some sort of collar around his neck. He didn't seem to have the energy to speak.

"Oh god, what did they do to you?" Cody mumbled, half to himself, as he, Waxer, and Gregor worked on untying the restraints and gently helping the general to the ground. They did not touch the collar. Experience told them that messing with a Jedi's connection to the Force (or current lack thereof) while severely injured could sometimes have adverse effects. Best to leave that one to the medics. Speaking of...

"We have to get him back to the ship," Cody ordered the two other troopers. "See if Tambourine can send down a shuttle with a medic to our location. Discretely."

Waxor and Gregor saluted and turned to their comms.

"Cody?"

He turned back to see that General Kenobi had directed his gaze towards him and was now attempting to sit up.

"No, sir, you have to stay down," he said, gently but firmly putting his hand on the general's shoulder and pushing him back down.

"Wha' happen'd?"

Cody huffed a laugh. "I was rather hoping you'd be able to tell me that, sir."

General Kenobi hummed, visibly struggling to remember. "I... There was... chanting? And... said I had too much? To talk with the...?" He waved his hand weakly.

"Too much what?"

"Force," Kenobi replied. "Tried bleeding out the... Force." Then he gestured to the collar around his neck with a wince. "Tried this when tha' didn't work."

Later, Cody would let himself have a private freakout about someone trying to bleed the Force out of his general, but not now. Now, he had to focus on care.

General Kenobi's eyes started to slip close, tired as he was from the small conversation.

"Don't go to sleep, sir," Cody said. He had to keep him talking... "Where did they put your robes?"

"Didn't lose them!" The general was wide awake now. "Tell... Tell Anakin... didn't lose them. Took them."

Cody had heard enough of the ribbing that Skywalker gave General Kenobi to know that his general was apparently rather infamous for losing his robes across the galaxy. Delirious, the point that his robes had been taken and not lost seemed to be very important to the general.

"I'll let them know," Cody assured him, and gave up on the robes query.

After that, the general began to lose more of his grip on his surroundings. He became increasingly anxious, muttering about how "they" were going to turn on him, about blood-filled hallways and children dying, about hot, endless sand. Cody tried to get him to drink something, but he refused and kept turning his head away when Cody tried to force the issue. By the time half an hour had gone by, General Kenobi was barely conscious and had turned feverish.

Cody stared at the sky fervently, hoping beyond all measure that the sound he heard was repulsors from the shuttle and not anything else. Please, he thought. He needs help.

hi! i few days ago, i discovered an online editor called photopea, created by ivan kutskir. this editor basically has all, if not most, of the features photoshop has, including their layout and overall design. photopea is free, unlike photoshop. for those who can not afford to get an editing software, or don't have a computer strong enough to download such heavy programs such as photoshop, photopea is an excellent alternative. as you can see in the following images, the layout is basically the same. if you're familiar with photoshop, or similar editing softwares, it will not be hard for you to grew accustomed to photopea. photopea is also available in more than 40 languages, making it really accessible. you can easily change the language by selecting the more tab. once you select it, you click on language. then, you select your prefered idiom.

i've never seen such a complete online editor as this one, so i encourage everyone to give it a try!

They'd put Obi-Wan in his own private room. Usually he insisted on not getting any special treatment, regardless of the fact that as a Jedi he could feel the pain and despair of others in the medbay, but this time he was in no condition to protest and it was deemed best for everyone involved that he wait it out privately.

That didn't mean alone, though, which was why Anakin showed up as fast as he could.

"What's the situation?" he asked the 212th's Chief Medical Officer just outside the doorway.

Fuzzy sighed, crossing his arms as he glanced through the small window towards Obi-Wan. "He's been drugged, sir. It seems to be affecting his biology even more than it should."

Anakin was already nodding. "Yeah, that's typical for him. Humans on his planet evolved slightly differently. They react a little strangely to normal medications sometimes."

"Hmm," Fuzzy grumbled. "There's nothing in his file about that."

Anakin shrugged. "Like I said, only sometimes. The healers at the Temple are all well aware."

Fuzzy gave a look at that as if he wanted desperately to tell Anakin how stupid he sounded and was only holding back because he would be addressing a superior officer. But his point came well across regardless.

Anakin put his hands up placatingly. "I'll make sure they send something over."

"Good." Fuzzy side-eyed him, then sighed and turned his attention back to the datapad in his hand. "Like I said, he's been drugged and is now acting atypically. He doesn't seem to be aware of his time or place. We decided to separate him for his own safety and for the safety of the other troopers."

"Is he dangerous?" Anakin frowned.

Fuzzy shook his head. "Not so far. But he has been acting erratically, and it was disturbing the healing environment."

"Right," Anakin sighed. "Can I go in?"

"Be my guest."

Anakin palmed the door open and stepped inside. Obi-Wan looked up as soon as he entered, scrambling back on the bed.

"Hey, it's me, it's just me," Anakin said soothingly.

Obi-Wan stared at him for a moment before recognition set in. "Anakin!" he hissed, beckoning. "Come closer, before he sees you!"

"Before who sees me?" Anakin asked, stepping right next to Obi-Wan's bedside.

Obi-Wan didn't seem to hear the question. "Up, up!" He shifted on the bed until there was a small spot free.

Anakin had to stifle his smile before obliging and climbing onto the bed with Obi-Wan. It was a tight fit, the bed not made for two humanoids, but this was priceless.

"What are we hiding from, Master?"

"Maul," Obi-Wan said distractedly, concentrating on covering Anakin with as much of the sheet as he could.

Instantly, all the mirth left Anakin. This wasn't funny anymore.

"Maul's not here, Master," he said quietly.

"Yes he is," Obi-Wan said, looking at Anakin as if he was the one having trouble figuring things out. This close, Anakin could tell that his pupils were vastly different sizes. "He already got Qui-Gon, I won't let him get you too."

"He's not going to get me," Anakin replied, carefully keeping his voice even. "We're here on the Negotiator, remember? Maul's very far away."

Obi-Wan just looked at him, confused. "But he was just here. Look what he did to my Master." He pointed at a spot on the ground that was completely empty.

"Obi-Wan, that was years ago." Anakin rubbed Obi-Wan's shoulders reassuringly, getting slightly worried now. "Qui-Gon died on Naboo, and you took me as your Padawan, and now I'm Knighted too."

This only seemed to make Obi-Wan more disoriented. "But... No, it's..." He furrowed his eyebrows, then shook his head as if trying to dislodge something.

Anakin could have swore at himself. He probably wasn't supposed to argue against Obi-Wan's delusions like this.

"Hey, hey," he said, wrapping his arm around Obi-Wan. "Let's stick together and stay calm, alright?"

"Okay, okay," Obi-Wan said, relaxing a bit into Anakin's touch. He was silent for a moment, then said, "If he comes back, you must promise me that you won't engage with him."

"I promise," Anakin said easily. He would have agreed to anything just then.

Obi-Wan didn't seem to believe him. "I'm serious, Anakin. Let me fight with Maul, not you."

"Don't think I can handle it, Master?" Anakin joked.

"I just don't want my Padawan to die like my Master did."

Anakin was silent for a few moments, then gently tipped Obi-Wan's head so it was leaning against Anakin's shoulder. "Just rest, Master. I swear I'll keep watch and wake you if anything happens."

It would normally be much harder to convince Obi-Wan to sleep, but he was pretty out of it. He clumsily sent a wave of love and affection towards Anakin in the Force. Anakin received it with tears pricking at the corners of his eyes and tightened his grip around his Master. He would keep Obi-Wan safe, even if only from the demons in his own mind.

its time to step the fuck up and really understand that nonbinary looks like anybody. nonbinary looks like you. nonbinary looks like your family and friends and it looks like the strangers who you thoughtlessly call “he” or “she” because of their appearance.

really supporting nonbinary people means understanding that theres no visual tell - you wont recognise all of us as nonbinary on sight. you have to actually LISTEN to us. you have to BELIEVE us. and it means challenging your assumptions about gender, starting with the assumption that youre an ally to trans people while youre still doing puerile shit like gendering body parts and clothes.

You know what’s sad? Having to tell my adult patients that they don’t have to be boring fucks who hate everything to be considered adults.

Seriously, people have a very weird idea of what it means to be an adult. I have patients who come to me and tell me they are unhappy with their lives and they don’t understand why, because they have a job, they have a good salary, they can pay their bills, they have a significant other, they’re doing everything right and still they’re unhappy.

And then we start talking and talking and, finally, we reach the real problem: they stopped being themselves.

I have so many patients who stopped doing things they liked - harmless things, fun things - because they felt it was innapropriate for an adult to do them.

Videogames? I’m too old for that.

Comic books? I’m too old for that.

Disney movies? That’s for kids.

Super hero movies/series? I’m an adult, I should act like one.

Going to parks/carnivals? I don’t have kids to do that with.

It’s scary how these people simply gave up on these fun hobbies just because they reached a certain age. And it’s even more scary that they don’t see the problem with this.

Adult life is more than just work, paying bills and marriage. It’s about going out with your friends, it’s about buying silly things that have no purpose but to bring you a little joy, it’s about having fun and living your life to the fullest.

You don’t have to be a boring fuck to be an “acceptable adult”. Fuck society and fuck whoever says you can’t like something because you’re “too old”.

You’re never too old to do the things you like, play the games you want to play and watch the movies/series you want to watch.

Dress up and go to Comic Con. Go to the midnight premiere of your favorite super hero movie. Read the “silly teen books” you want to read. Play that “childish” game you’ve been wanting to play.

Being an adult doesn’t mean you need to forget who you are. Being older doesn’t mean you need to let go of the things you love and enjoy.

Be unapologetically yourself and go live your best life!

There are three main bodies of Coruscant Security: the Coruscant Security Force [CSF], the Senate Guard [SG], and then the Coruscant Guard [CG]. The Coruscant Guard and CSF don’t often work together but they have a mutual, if slightly strained, respect for each other. The CSF tends to handle the big cases with occasional aid from the Guard and their duties overlap a lot, which is also compounded by the fact that both receive aid from Jedi Investigators (like Shadows). Both, however, hate the Senate Guard. The SG and CG in particular have a lot of bad blood since the CG is overtaking a lot of the SG’s former roles, not to mention the SG is pretty corrupt by the time of the Clone Wars so there isn’t a lot of trust there and the CG and SG have to interact a lot. There aren’t violent disputes per say, but strong verbal… exchanges/general animosity aren’t uncommon. The relationship between them is tenuous at best.

Moving on, the Coruscant Guard itself is split into two main sections: the Diplomatic Force [DF] and Coreworld Security [CS], headed by Commander Thorn and Commander Stone, respectively. the DF is mainly meant for off-planet missions—accompanying Jedi and Senators abroad for negotiations, acting as body guards off-world, all that fun stuff. The clones in this section tend to be more experienced with better training marks, more missions under their belt, and generally older in general (so it’s rare for shinies to immediately be assigned here). On the other hand, CS deals with internal affairs. They’re the ones who work with the CSF on occasion, and they also share responsibilities with the SG. They get to deal with the nitty gritty parts of Coruscant, investigations, general patrolling, etc. etc.. The DF is significantly smaller than the CS, though a lot of their responsibilities overlap due to being overworked and understaffed (which is my reasoning for why Stone was off planet on a diplomatic mission). 

Additionally, the CS has a lot of sub divisions with the most prominent ones being the Medical Wing, the Riot Troopers, and then the K9 Troopers (animal handlers). The Medical Wing is headed by the CMO, Riot Troopers are handled by a Lieutenant, and then the K9 group is under Sergeant Hound. The Medical Wing treats clones and criminals alike, along with the occasional Senator or Civvie though that’s a rare occurrence. Riot Troopers are meant for subduing riots (as the name suggests)/de-escalating civilian unrest and they sometimes work alongside the Jedi Order. The K9 troopers train massiffs (Grizzer my beloved) for tracking and they have a couple of the animals in their unit though having a trooper actually own one is rare (Hound is basically an exception since he leads the unit). All three of these groups have minimal interaction with the Senate. 

Sidnote: Since there aren’t canon clones for the CMO and Riot Trooper Lieutenant, I’m going to shamelessly insert OCs here: Lieutenant Nakla for the CG’s CMO, and then Lieutenant Mav (wow I have a lot of Lieutenants here). 

As a Marshal Commander, Fox oversees everything and works closely with the Chancellor, making him a bit distant from most of his men. Stone and Thorn are obviously closest to him though Thire’s also wormed his way in a bit as Thorn’s second in command (Thire’s also the youngest by half a growth cycle, and I also like to think that he’s the most sensitive. Fox definitely calls him “kid” a lot). They all refer to Fox as ori’vod because… I say so, and it’s also well known that I’m a sucker for brotherly interactions, they deserve some crumbs of comfort. Fox has a lot of rules for how he runs things, and there’s a very good reason for it too. It’s not uncommon to lose vod’e to decommissioning and while shinies normally find it ridiculous at first, most quickly catch on (those who don’t… well. yeah, it’s a depressing thought). There’s some leeway with appearance, but it’s not like the clones on the frontlines (at least the ones who have decent Jedi). The more nondescript they look, the easier it is to switch clones out for each other. 

I don’t think the rest of the clones dislike the CG (I’m really not a huge fan of that head canon), especially not the older clones because I think there has to be some understanding there (they were all raised on Kamino after all), but I think there’s 100% a disconnect. The environment of Coruscant isn’t exactly one that encourages growth, especially for those frequently working alongside the Senators, so the CG bond easier with each other than they would with clones from other Corps’s. Hand signs are commonly taught for communication, there are lessons on different alien cultures (and also biology) for the clones, and most of them know regulations like the backs of their hands. I made a brief post on Fox specifically a while back, but they’re closest to the core and everything they do is being scrutinized by the Senators. Not only that, but Coruscant is nowhere near safe—Fox has lost count of how many times he’s looked at files full of dead vod’e that are labeled as “property damage” because the anti-clone sentiment on Coruscant is strong (we see it plenty in the show) and they’re never going to be able to charge the perps with more than a slap on the wrist.

I might add on with more head canons specific to Fox and the rest of the Commanders (+ Thire) later on, but for now, here’s the CG lore that I’ve come up with because my brain will not shut up

the only thing that's real

Summary: It started as the barest whisper of a voice, almost completely drowned out in the howling sandstorms of Tatooine, then grew into something more familiar.

“Obi-Wan,” the voice said clearly in the back of his head, and he almost lost his footing in the sand.

chapter 1: what have i become

It started as the barest whisper of a voice, almost completely drowned out amongst the winds in the sandstorms that battered the walls of his simple home and screamed their fury not towards the heavens but towards, it felt like, him and him alone.

It was indistinguishable in his mind from the voices of his own doubts and castigations that dug their fingers into the depths of his soul and clawed at him from within, so he ignored it at first, and the whisper went away.

Then he was meditating on the top of a high cliff and there would be a prickle on his back, like he was being watched. But when he turned around and, visual senses failing him, cast his awareness out into the Force, the only pings that returned were from a large herd of banthas a klick or two away. He stood there motionless for a very long while, hand gripping the leather-wrapped exterior of his staff so hard he could feel new callouses beginning to form, until something smelly and scraggly brushed up against him with a hot puff in his ear and he realized the banthas had made their way to his spot. The presence he’d felt earlier was gone, replaced by the soothing, earthen feel of the banthas, and he could not complain because they were the truest companions he had out in the Wastes.

He did not speak to much of anyone, anymore. He had once been famed for his ability to craft words, but now there was scarcely anyone to practice such a skill with, save for the few shopkeepers whose businesses he frequented on the rare occasions he made the trek to a nearby town to purchase provisions. He’d gotten so out of practice that the last time he’d gone, he’d been forced to spend upwards of a minute just trying to clear his throat and force his vocal chords to begin doing their job again. Thinking him choking to death, the poor shopkeeper had even offered up some water, a precious commodity on Tatooine.

After that embarrassing incident, he began speaking to the banthas. Not too much; there wasn’t much he wanted to discuss with them. But he’d always had a way with animals, and he was truly starved of companionship, so he named them first in his head and then aloud. Yyita was the one with the newborn cubs: Pannon, Peera, and Pohbu. Her doting mate Chirdala could most often be found gently nudging their children back in line after they tumbled over each other. Gram’s fur was going grey on the edges, and he tended to be a bit slower than the others. Not as slow as Ro’qo though, who dragged his back right leg when he lumbered along. Tiktik was bound by no such limitations, and was always near the head of the pack shuffling towards him. She was the first one to warm to him, back in the early weeks and months when he not only felt broken on the inside but on the outside as well. She let him dig his hands into her shaggy fur and hold on tight as he struggled to find his footing on the shifting sand. And when he cried, she just stared silently at him with those giant eyes that offered no judgement.

In the very beginning, he had been too numb to cry, living in a haze, movements jerky as if someone else was controlling his body. He didn’t have a very good memory of those early days.

chapter 2: beneath the stains of time

It took another three days for the voice to come back. He had prowled around the Wastes for the first twelve hours after the voice told him about Pohbu, until dehydration forced him back to his homestead and the broken moisture vaporator. There he took out his feelings on the internal dampener once more until it finally popped back into place and began collecting its prize again.

After that, he searched for the banthas until he finally ran into the herd. Something about his demeanor must have alarmed them, because they did not want to let him near Pohbu at first. Tiktik kept brushing against him like she was trying to calm him down, but he would not settle until he had examined the cub, who seemed perfectly fine.

He was inordinately relieved. Proof that the voice was -- literally -- all in his head, not the spirit of Qui-Gon Jinn.

But not eighteen hours later, Pohbu began shivering in the desert heat, and nothing he did could stop the little cub from eventually closing its eyes and not opening them again.

did ahsoka have a stuffed tooka when she was a kid?

Yes she did. It was orange with white markings just like her and Plo gave it to her when the Crèche Masters were amusedly looking the other way not looking

And then that little tooka toy was crammed in a rucksack and hauled to the front, and for awhile was forgotten about in all the excitement and fear. But sometimes Ahsoka pulled it out to look at, rubbing its soft and thinning fur, and she slept with it under the sheets when she could, hiding it away in the morning.

But eventually the troopers noticed - how could they not? - and they made sure it was packed in her bag before they left any camp. Not that any of them touched it, or pointed it out. They just made sure her space was clear before they left, and sometimes they peeked in her half-open bag to see if the fluffy orange fur was safely inside.

And then one of the ears fell off. Frayed and tattered it was lost, and Ahsoka shoved that tooka toy deep in her bag and refused to look at it for a week.

When she finally pulled it out again, her tooka had two ears.

One was orange.

The other was 501st blue, stitched unprettily but securely.
