Back again for another edition of analyzing the music and soundtrack of each Siege of Mandalore episode—this time, I’m listening my brains out to 7x11 “Shattered.”

A hint of the Emperor’s theme on low strings when Mace says “the dark side of force surrounds the chancellor”
A really beautiful and wistful melody plays on the strings when Yoda and Ahsoka are speaking about Anakin—it sounds super familiar but it also might be a new variation of the Force/star wars theme written for this scene lol.
Atmospheric music in the lead up to Order 66, I love it so much. It’s just so gorgeous and surreal—the calm before the storm.
Imperial March played in a slow, high register when Rex and Ahsoka walk onto the bridge—and then on one of the repetitions, the third note shifts to modulate to a stripped down version of Ahsoka’s theme (0:32-0:46 in the sneak peek clip) as she speaks for the first time on the bridge! Ahsoka’s theme plays once before it goes back to Imperial March (0:50 onwards)
Anakin’s Dark Deeds when Rex finally loses control and shoots at Ahsoka. Specifically, it’s the part of Anakin’s Dark Deeds that plays when Obi-Wan confronts Padme about Anakin’s betrayal while Anakin broods/cries on Mustafar. My head is very Full of Thoughts about why Kiner chose that cue rather than Anakin’s Betrayal (which is what plays during the ROTS order 66 montage.)
When Rex is walking down the hallway giving orders, there’s a little melody being played that sounds like one of the villain/evil tracks from ROTS, but I’m a bit lazy to figure out where exactly it appears lmao.
I know the music when Ahsoka looks through the Fives report is typical of movie hacking music, but the style is really similar to how Kiner scored the scenes of Fives searching through the Kaminoan records, so I thought I’d bring it up lol.
DAT FORCE THEME AT “I AM ONE WITH THE FORCE AND THE FORCE IS WITH ME.”
yall gonna hate me for this but….. the single bell sound that plays when Ahsoka turns around and realizes Rex shot the other clones sounds like the exact same instrument that plays in the Umbara arc right when Rex pulls off a dead clone’s helmet and realizes they’ve been shooting each other.
The track that plays when Ahsoka asks Rex how widespread order 66 is similar to Death of a Master from the TCW soundtrack. It played when both Evan Piell and Fives died.
