hey y’all i’m alive ! i still intend to come back soon, i just had some real long hours right before galaxy’s edge opened (50+ oof) & then my family actually came to visit me all the way from the west coast so i just haven’t had time because i wanted to spend it with them since it’s the only time i’ll see them from last april to this january ahhh. on the plus side things are dying down here at disney world, so less hours/exhaustion !

A grin crossed ruby stained lips as she chuckled at her half-sister. Head tipping curiously to one side and allowing jewel-toned curls to tumble and fall into place. “Well, little sparrow.” Her voice was almost a purr, something that should probably never come out of a human throat. “I’m a better looking, stronger and more powerful version of you. But with less whining.”
a hand finds it’s place on her hip. was she supposed to be intimidated by this evil knock off ? eyes narrow, ❝ better version of me ? with THOSE feathers ? puh - lease ! ❞ everyone knows feathers are so last year !

“Audrey.”
Aurora was using her daughter’s name, but she knew this person in front of her wasn’t really that girl anymore. But she had to be there, beneath the surface, and even if no-one else could appeal to her, maybe she could. The queen raised a hand out a little towards the princess.
“Sweetheart, give me the scepter.”
Seeing what that thing had done to Audrey in the first place, taking it herself was a very risky move but Aurora was willing to do it. She had to, for her daughter’s sake.
the princess stops in her tracks. if there was someone who could get through to her, it was her mother. her wonderful, kind mother --- & the scepter knew that. she didn’t want to hurt her, & for a second the evil falters, but a whisper tells her she’ll just turn on you too. she takes a step back, protectively pulling the staff behind her.
❝ why should i, huh ? ❞ without it...she was NOTHING ! without it, she was weak & defenseless, just how auradon wanted her ! no, she wouldn’t be a damsel anymore.

Gil looked up, hazel eyes focusing on the girl curiously. “Oh hey.” He grinned, “you’re that princess that made the knights dance. Or I guess made them fight, Mal made them dance. I know we were in danger but that was pretty cool.” He chuckled, “you look happier now so that’s good.”

❝ ha, yup, that’s me, ❞ she hesitates as the awkwardness fills the air, afraid he’s going to hate her like the rest. though she didn’t know him personally she did know he was one of uma’s close pirates, kinda hard not to when she was spying in with the scepter. but instead he found her trying to KILL them cool ? that was certainly new.
❝ well, i don’t know if i’d call it COOL, but i am happier now, i suppose. ❞ then again, being happier than her evil persona wasn’t exactly hard to achieve.

“Perhaps we should talk.” This should have happened quite some time ago. It wasn’t fair on her, on anyone, that it had taken so long. “I’d offer something to eat, but Lumiére and Mrs. Potts are out.”
❝ --- so i have to go on a villainous rampage to finally get to “ talk ”, huh ? ❞ her words could’ve had more malice to them, but she’s TIRED & instead apathy fills her voice. ( at the very least, he’s finally trying to make things right. ) she hates what she’s done, & there’s nothing in the world that can make up for it --- but she also hates how long it took for him to even begin to apologize. they were BEST FRIENDS from the moment they were born, they knew each other like family, & yet it took her trying to make all of her friends, family, world...suffer for him to notice something might be wrong. no, she didn’t care if it wasn’t true love between them, she cared that he humiliated her, belittled her, & turned all of their childhood friends against her ( with the exception of chad, of course. ) even if he didn’t mean to. that was what hurt now.

❝ of course, mom ! ❞ she smiles, holding up a pale pink dress to her body in front of a full length mirror. she certainly didn’t have to turn around to know who it was, but confirms it’s her mom as she watches her appear behind her in the mirror.

as much as she appreciates and wants to take up audrey on her offer, as audrey said —- she’s a leader. she has a crew to lead, a crew to go back to. she also has harry and gil who actually seem like they want to stay and help, unlike herself they’re hopeful, they want to stay in auradon but uma’s well aware of mal’s past and everything just seems TOO GOOD TO BE TRUE ! that being said, she’ll never turn her back on her boys, her crew nor her people. you see that’s the difference between herself and mal, SHE DOESN’T ABANDON HER PEOPLE, NOR DOES SHE ABANDON HER HOME.
“ that’s a tempting offer audrey and in another life, maybe i’d take you up on it… but i have people here and on the isle that i care about —– and for me, loyalty is worth more than any crown. “ if she could have it all, she’d take it. but life isn’t that easy and so turning down audrey is the only option. “ i must admit though, ruling alongside you would’ve been something i’d of enjoyed. you’re EXTREMELY CREATIVE when it comes to exacting vengeance. i can appreciate that. “
while she grins at the compliment, she’s DISAPPOINTED...yet not surprised. villains never had a great track record at working together to begin with...however, the princess queen does not give up so easily. perhaps one more push in the right direction could finally unite them. ( the enemy of my enemy is my friend. )
❝ but the isle is a part of auradon, is it not ? ❞ she questions, with a glimmer of malice behind her eyes. not long ago she’d hate to admit it --- the kingdom of auradon DID have jurisdiction over the small island, & “ took care ” of it, if you could even call it that --- but the isle itself didn’t scare her anymore, in fact, now she had more power than most of the villains sentenced there. is that what would drive uma to join her ? to come & go as she pleased, with whoever she pleased ?
❝ you can have both, you know. once mal is crowned QUEEN OF AURADON, she’ll take your place as queen of the isle too --- is that who you want on your throne ? the girl who already decided to close the barrier for good, once she’s done with me ? ❞
