It's been awhile!
Just a few updates is necessary, I guess. Firstly, I have a new job on campus because my internship ended, sadly. It's pretty damn boring, and I practically do nothing for $10/hr, which is awesome if I think about it. But I am definitely looking forward for my next internship where I'm actually engaged in what I'm doing, and am not browsing the internet for four hours straight (literally). Speaking of which, I was supposed to have a meeting with a connection at another web design company yesterday, but she is super busy this week, so she's moved the meeting to next week. I just hope she has some time to see me at all, because I'm really more impressive in person rather than on the phone or on paper. I even made my own website for my "growing" portfolio. It's pretty cool. I went through the lovely process of purchasing a domain name (thankfully, "sbrisendine.com" wasn't taken - this is where I'm thankful for my long ass German name). And I'm becoming much more familiar with Wordpress - not just the basics, but things like plug-ins, editing the code, and shortcodes. I'm slowly but surely on my way :)
I've also been doing well with my health. I'm becoming a workout fiend again, which is totally cool. I do boot camp (planning on signing up for another month shortly) Mon/Wed/Fri 5:30am-6:30am, bikram yoga once or twice a week, and volleyball at least twice a week. I even tried kickboxing a few weeks ago, and it was killer. I'm trying not to hurt myself though, so I've made myself take at least Sunday as a rest day. I actually skipped boot camp this morning (oops) because I wanted ONE DAY to actually sleep in. I get up so so so early every single freaking day. It's actually very weird on boot camp days when I get off of work (noon), and I think wow, I've already been up for EIGHT hours. lol ... But I've lost upwards of 10lbs, so that's cool, planning on going down another 10 in the next month or so, so that's the goal!
I'm trying to hang out with friends more often, as well. I wish I could see Jeanie more (ehem, lol), but I know she's busy with her full time job and the stressful manager accompanying it. I went to lunch with Anna the other day, so that was nice. Since I don't really see David that much, I've had more time on my hands than I planned. But, it leaves plenty of time to accomplish the other things on my mind, so it works.
Well, gonna make a grocery list for Father's Day cooking/grilling on Sunday. It's going to be a good time. Val, Cara, Carolyn, Dad, and me all hanging, drinking, and eating by the pool and watching movies. I'm making a nice meal, with some tapas to start, fish/shrimp tacos for the main course, and then some stuffed strawberries and grapefruit for some light dessert :)
