some people will really come out here like "well if a trans man has been on testosterone for 10 years and has top and bottom surgery and doesn't interact with people who knew him before he transitioned or only interacts with people who aren't transphobic and doesn't present as feminine or nonconforming or otherwise queer and is strictly heterosexual and never wants to have their own children and never has any reproductive or otherwise gendered health issues at all and never has any negative experience with the legal system and doesn't experience interpersonal abuse that could require them to seek outside help and doesn't experience any lasting trauma on the journey to getting to that point in life then trans men Basically aren't even oppressed and have it pretty easy in life when you really think about it"
and people are just lining up to be like "Huh Wow.... Pretty Messed Up When You Think About It That Way" like damn, guess nobody's oppressed anywhere for any reason then 😭
"people AFAB are granted power over people AMAB because they're seen as innocent and can play the victim" is without exception copy-and-pasted MRA rhetoric. Cis women can do that with trans women because they're cis. Trans men are not seen as innocent victims in relation to anyone else and to assert they are just goes to show you believe everything TERFs and Christofascists say, and that should be considered a deeply embarrassing thing to publicly admit. If you stop and think for five seconds this will start to make sense to you.
one of my ex mutuals who i unmutualed for having a weird crashout over trans men when her trans ex bf broke up w her (yes the blue girl thing isn't just her) was in particular posting about how its bad and transmisogynistic for a trans guy to see a post talking about transmisogyny and the ways it manifests for trans women, and comment saying "i experience this too." its often followed with an "im sorry this is happening to you" but like the alleged transmisogynistic act being committed is a trans man relating to something a trans woman experiences. and im afraid i dont know what the problem is. like its not "talking over women" to go into the comments of a post and being like "ive been there." its not silencing trans women unless you view trans men talking at all as silencing trans women. so im afraid no ones gonna be able to explain this one to me
It really wasn't until I finally started talking in trans spaces that I realized that most people are still actually pro gender essentialism and move with an original sin-like concept of the world and the people in it. No one needs to apologize for their gender, even cis people, nor do humans need to take responsibility for a ransom person's actions based on a broad shared characteristic. And especially to trans men, you are not Jesus, and cannot take on the sins of other people. Your first step into the world as your true self should not ever be an apology, you're an individual and deserve so much more :)
people will invent a category of people youre allowed to want to kill without trial, recorse, or remorse, and then when you say "hey inventing a category like that will just get minorities and other political enemies of the state categorized as that and killed" said people will immediately try to put you in the category
it doesn't matter how many times you explain that trans men and mascs don't need to be explicitly mentioned in regressive legislation for them to be affected by said legislation, that they are largely swept in with "females" or "transgenderism" implicitly and that this lack of acknowledgement by these bills is intentional and part of the systemic issue of transmasculine invisibility which is exactly what makes it look like these bills don't affect us, because every time one of these bills actually passes there's always at least someone who has to bring up unprompted how this "proves" trans men have it easier
leftists on tumblr will go “my entire purpose is to dismantle bigotry in every form. anyway i MUST defend the murder of a ten year old girl who was killed for being jewish”
"stop making everything about trans men!!!!" nothing is ever allowed to be about trans men. can't talk about trans men under trans posts, or "women's" issues posts, or even our own separate posts we make to specifically talk about us. we have no representation, our rights are being stripped away and no one wants to acknowledge it, we are being forcibly detransitioned while the world carries on like nothing is wrong. our own community doesn't want to talk about us.
abhor it when I talk about jewish things in front of goyim and they have the audacity to say "Oh. You don't look Jewish"
But then I get to say "Well, what does a Jew look like?"
And watching them try to babble their way out of antisemitism is so fucking funny
Are trans men "envious of trans women's hypervisibility" or are they talking about how their erasure regularly results in their deaths and cover up of hate crimes against them?
Are trans men "envious of hypervisility" or are they talking about how any attempt to discuss their oppression is intentionally suppreased by people both outside and within the trans community?
Are trans men "envious of hypervisibility" or are they tired of being in after-thought in literally every single conversation about trans rights?
i am massively overdue for a very very good week where not a single bad thing happens and everything is easy
reblog to give prev a very good week where not a single bad thing happens and everything is easy
"autistic people need instructions for every simple task" okay how about we talk about the neurotypicals not following clear instructions. what do you mean it didn't work the way you wanted, i gave you the instructions. oh you didn't follow them? you didn't see where i clearly indicated the directions you were supposed to follow for this task? and you're shocked it didn't turn out right? you decided to pull a Jared I'm 19 and go rogue? you're surprised the road less travelled isn't fucking paved because no one travels it? do you get off on this
nice try but that doesn't work on me. appreciate the attempt tho <3
Anybody who has spent any time working in retail, hospitality or IT can tell you that a not-inconsiderable number of NT people cannot follow a fucking instruction if you wrote it down on a piece of paper and stapled it to their forehead
Personally, I find it uncomfortable to see how many people took off their tags and yellow ribbons once the living hostages came home. Said things such as, "They're all home".
Of course, it was a huge reason for celebration.
But imagine the feelings of the families who are still waiting to bury their loved ones?
It's until the last hostage for a reason.
Chanukah values are universal, like freedom of religion, independence from oppressive empires, and fried food
'colonialism is bad' y'all can't even handle accepting not everyone wants to celebrate Christmas
dislike how many mental health posts on here are just "you've never done anything wrong in your life ever and they were evil for that"
maybe you did do something wrong. maybe you hurt someone. maybe you have said awful things. maybe you were just as bad as them. maybe. but what matters is that you move on. you have to try. you have to wake up and be kinder. you have to learn and listen and grow. maybe you did do something wrong but that doesn't mean you have to keep doing that. as long as you are alive, you can change
