D.I.Y Sugar/Salt scrubs!
Who doesn't love a good body scrub? It exfoliates your skin and leaves your skin feeling nice and soft! I made my first body scrub last year for Christmas presents and I though I'd share my recipe! It's Mom approved, haha.
What you'll need:
Sugar
Salt
Oil (I use olive oil, but any kind of oil would work. I suggest coconut, sunflower, almond, any kind of natural oil)
Honey (optional)
Cinnamon (optional, for smell)
Brown sugar (this can be used instead of salt, mainly because it's smoother and easier on delicate skin types)
Scented oils or extracts (such as vanilla, lemon, peppermint, etc)
Spoon for mixing
A bowl
A container (jar) to hold your scrub
The Steps:
Combine all your dry ingredients first. This will include your sugar, salt, cinnamon (optional), brown sugar (optional) and any other dry ingredients you have. Stir well in a bowl.
Slowly add your oil. Make sure not to pour too much in at a time otherwise your scrub will be too oily. I like to add small amounts a time to make sure I get the thickness that I like.
Add honey (optional) and mix.
Add your oils and/or extracts and mix.
Once done, fill your container and seal!
Scrubs are really quite easy to make and they're inexpensive! They also make great gifts.
Til then, God bless!
