"im tired of living through major historical events" is now "dear lord please let me witness a high profile political assassination in the next 1-2 years. amen"
I saw the tweet and immediately knew what I had to do with it
Polyamory isn't about sticking it to the people staring. It's not about parents' acceptance. It's not about cheating or sneaking around. It's not even about the sex, not that that's not a bonus.
It's about reminding each other to take our meds. It's about breaking bread with metamours. It's about sharing special interests on long car rides. It's about learning about your lovers' love for their partners.
It's about retying her dress while our gf melts at the sweetness. It's about the way they both helped me stay ambulatory. It's about tag team compliments. It's about the way that little girl excitedly looked between the three of us, her eyes fixing on each of our clasped hands.
It's about support, and love, and living.
this post is dedicated forevermore to three people i just saw tonight outside the gay club in the most beautiful interaction of beautiful people iâve ever seen in my life. it was so beautiful i had to come here to talk about it. like actually writing it out is fucking insane. let me set the scene: two of the hottest men iâve ever seen in my life were making out with each other outside the gay clubâŠand then picture the HOTTEST woman, i mean quite literally the fucking SEXIEST, jaw-dropping, smoothest skin, nicest-smelling woman running up to the both of them from out of nowhere, i donât even know where she came from â literally she probably descended from heaven itself (or from the inside of the club and i didnât see her come out lmao)âŠthe two men see her out of the corner of their eyes, their eyes fucking LIGHT UP when they see her. and not in like a bestie way, like an âiâm in loveâ way. oh bitch they both had it BAD for her. and THEN!!!! they passionately kissedâŠALL THREE OF THEM!!! THEY HAD HER PUSHED AGAINST THE WALL TAKING TURNS KISSING HER!!! and then like the ethereal creatures of the night they were, they locked hands with her, and walked away into the foggy night hand-in-hand togetherâŠone of the men gently tucked one of her locs behind her ear and called her princess as they walked awayâŠi would like to personally say, i am a better person for having watched that interaction. thank you. your life is a movie and i was so glad i got to be an extra in that moment. this is the future liberals want and all that
I've seen so many "who is Jacksepticeye and why is he on tumblr" and "Jack has a tumblr" posts that I think you should qualify for a senior discount if you remember when he was originally on tumblr
If youâre an American federal employee and got an email saying âitâs ok to quit your job.â Do not, for the love of everything, quit your job. This is purely a scare tactic to get rid of as many people as possible without legal consequences.
Obviously, Trump has realized firing everyone in the government will be harder than he thought because of robust legal protections so heâs trying to scare or trick people into leaving instead because he knows they can block and slow his fascist agenda. Donât let that happen. If youâre in the civil service, your country needs you; stay in your job and protect the constitution. And if youâre not in civil service, do what you can to support the civil service, including calling your representatives and asking them to protect civil servants.
Important addition: the email was almost WORD FOR WORD the same email sent to Twitter employees after Musk took over. It does not consider Federal employee rights or regulations, parts of it make NO SENSE WHATSOEVER (you resign but will be kept on active payroll and simply wonât be given work or need to come in. For 8 months.).
8 months pay with the ability to get a new job is very tempting, especially for lower-paid workers. All that extra money could really cover some gaps and relieve financial pressures. Itâs tempting. I get it.
ITS ALSO NOT LIKELY LEGAL AS WRITTEN AND YOUR AGREEMENT COULD ACTUALLY SCREW YOU. Thereâs a reason so many of the recent EOs and initial memorandums are getting halted or rewritten - no thought or research was given to what they can do given actual regulations and union contracts. Because many are coming from Musk via DOGE, and Musk has NEVER had to deal with unions, federal employee regulations, and strong opponents capable of fighting back HARD with decades of legal precedent at their back.
Reality seems to be hitting as an afterthought to all the shit spewing like a firehose from this administration. Donât react to the first edition of ANYTHING. Given it a few days and see what actually can be done.
Right now, r/fednews is the biggest social media hub for federal employees anywhere; you can find resources, advice, news, memes, and encouragement there.
If you're not a federal employee, feel free to pop over anyway for information, and please send well-wishes! They really need it right now, as their jobs are so so so important but not very popular or prestigious, and now the wealthiest and most powerful people in the world are trying to take their livelihoods.
The architect of Project 2025, Russell Vought, is now Trump's director for the Office of Managenent and Budget -
ie, the main guy who created Project 2025 is now the topmost-level manager and coordinator of all federal agencies.
His vision for federal civil servants, in his own words:
"We want the bureaucrats to be traumatically affected. When they wake up in the morning, we want them to not want to go to work because they are increasingly viewed as the villains.
We want their funding to be shut down so that the EPA can't do all of the rules against our energy industry because they have no bandwidth financially to do so.
We want to put them in trauma."
Project 2025 specifically targets federal civil servants for a reason. They are the essential first and second lines of defense of the US democracy and the fascists know it.
Support our civil servants, support your rights.
This is so important.
Support civil servants, support your rights!
And if youâre in the civil service weâre all rooting for you. You are heroes. Even slowing him down buys valuable time to defeat the fascist agenda. Defend the constitution. We stand with you. Hold the line! Donât resign!
For no reason here is a library story
There will be millions of actions like this over the coming years. An important thing to remember is that for them to work (anywhere, not just libraries) is people absolutely canât announce that this is what they are doing.
Not seeing constant acts of resistance doesnât mean it isnât happening all around you all the time. Some very effective methods require silence and secrecy.
Something to keep in mind.
Well put. (Source: Writing About Writing Facebook page)
