greetings from Earth 🌍 there's no place like home!!
Take life step by step 💓
Life's been shit this month but at least October is still beautiful. At least the water still reflects the trees. At least the leaves are still colorful and vibrant. At least autumn is still here.
A rocky path through the woods today. Happy autumn, everybody. Happy hiking.
Autumn is here!!
Went for a lovely October hike today while it was sunny and 70° and I was in my happy place. I hope you are all having wonderful adventures while the weather is still nice.

Taken February 2023 on a preserve in PA.
When the first sunlight hits the ridge and turns it red.
Looking up at the autumn trees.
A Chinese Elm in some gorgeous evening sunlight. Apparently this tree is used for baseball bats and bows for bows and arrows, and it's not difficult to see why. The whole tree had a reddish tint that glows in the setting sun.
The leaves are changing and autumn is in full swing where I live. I'm halfway in my happy place and halfway concerned because the colder months always bring the 'winter blues' for me. But I'm still going to soak up this gorgeous, cool weather and watch the leaves fall through November :)
Sorry for the long hiatus everyone! But I return with an exciting story.
This morning I went for an early morning run (I'm not usually that type of person, but the weather was nice and I was in the mood). A few minutes in, I ran into this hawk flying at a squirrel on a phone wire. But this squirrel was smart. It hid in the mesh of wires, as you see above) and the hawk wasn't able to get to it.
As far as I know, the two are still locked in a stalemate, or the hawk's gotten bored and flown off. I'll keep you updated if I see any differently.
Really poor quality photo of a magical moment. Can any fish folk help me identify the species?
This is an ostrich fern! They're easy plants to grow in most areas, so are a good option if you, like me, suck at gardening. This one was growing wild in a patch of woods near me.
This water was not as clear as it looks in this photo but we can pretend it was 😂. I finally got back out into the woods this week! It was so nice to be outside again surrounded by trees and animals (I heard a fair amount of new animal sounds and birdsong). Here's to making sure we get out there and see the world.
Scene from a country road, early November.
Almost the same view today, the 10th of July.
